La Cava del Tequila in EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion is THE place to be if tequila is your drink of choice!

This tequila bar had been serving up drinks to-go since the park reopened, but that didn’t stopped tequila fans from lining up! This is one of our favorite hidden gems in EPCOT, and now La Cava del Tequila will be offering a new exclusive experience for you to come and stay for a while.

A new offering, the Agave Experience, will immerse you in all of the unique flavors of agave spirits with a certified Tequila Ambassador as your tour guide. The tasting takes place in a secluded area, distanced from the guests ordering at the bar. In this above-and-beyond tasting, everyone in your party will get to sip on rare and unique agave spirits, including some that are exclusive to the experience!

Excitingly, we had the opportunity to check out what this new experience has to offer! It starts with a warm welcome and a margarita in hand! You will kick off the tasting by chatting with the Tequila Ambassador as they introduce you to the inner workings of tequila. These certified leaders will share their experiences from their own tequila towns and warm you up for all the top-shelf tasting to come.

After mingling and enjoying a margarita, you’ll clean your palate with a shot of vodka. And then the tasting begins! Glasses are filled with different types of tequila and you’ll actually learn the differences between each!

From all the different tequila colors, bodies, and aromas, there’s a lot more to the tequila we enjoy at the Mexico Pavilion than we thought. Your ambassador will teach you all you need to know about the five families of tequila and you’ll walk away with some new expertise on the subject.

And, a shot of Mezcal follows the tequila. Do you know the difference between the two? Well, you’re sure to learn it during your Agave Experience!

As you sip away, the Tequila Ambassador will lead you through each liquor and pair it with an item that is meant to enhance the natural flavors. Lime, lemon, grasshoppers, chocolate chips, and cinnamon will pair with a variety of tequila.

And, grasshoppers and orange will pair with the mezcal. Yes, that’s right — grasshoppers. We know it sounds questionable, but we gave this pairing a try earlier this year and kinda liked it!

Throughout the experience, you can keep any lingering hunger at bay and snack on a plate of chips and guacamole…

…and, after the tasting and presentation are complete, you can stay for a while and finish off your drinks. BUT, it’s not over yet! Guests are sent off with a special ending drink that will feature a 1921 cream based liquor. Salud!

Agave Experience

The Agave Experience will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour (21 and older). The cost is $150 per person, so this exclusive experience will definitely cost ya. However, since the bar is only offering to-go drinks right now, this is the only way to enjoy your drinks inside.

Update! We stopped in at La Cava del Tequila as of February 5th and Cast Members told us that The Agave Experience is now being offered to couples for about $300.
