One of the best things about EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts is how it lets us to embrace our inner Disney Imagineer and put our artistic skills to the test!

That’s precisely why we were so psyched to stop by the returning Animation Academy, a fun and FREE workshop that’s back for the 2021 fest! 

Held daily at 12:30PM. and 1:30PM. at the American Gardens Theatre, Animation Academy is an AMAZING opportunity to try your hand at Disney animation, all while learning from the pros!

Even for anyone whose drawing skills aren’t exactly Disney-ready, it’s still an “A” for effort! And “A” for animation! We checked out one of the classes today, which was a tutorial on how to draw the one and only Goofy!

Disney provides the drawing board, paper, and pencil.

Then it’s time for the animation instructor to take the stage!

With a projector screen overhead, it makes it easy to follow along no matter where you’re seated! Altogether, the session takes about 20 minutes, and when you’re done, you put the board back and keep your drawing and pencil!

These animation classes are such a cool way to interact with classic Disney animators in a way that’s safe, fun, and free!
