Triple Chocolate Cookie from Gideon’s Bakehouse — East End Market Location

We’ve already sampled SO many delicious cookies from their exiting Orlando location, heard about some of the unique items that will be featured in the new store, tried out their hot cookie hour at their East End Market spot, and even got some awesome stories in an exclusive interview with the cookie master himself — Steve Lewis, the owner of Gideon’s Bakehouse. BUT, today we spotted a new development over at Gideon’s Disney Springs location!

Construction at Gideon’s Disney Springs store has been progressing. We’ve seen a sign added to the spot and more work going on there, but today we spotted another addition — a mysterious gargoyle has landed on top of the building!

Here’s a closer look at our new friend! Why so sad buddy? Because Gideon’s Bakehouse still isn’t open in Disney Springs? We totally get it.

Hello Gargoyle!

According to Gideon’s Instagram stories, the gargoyle flew over their Bakehouse this morning, stole the “G,” and perched atop the building. Gideon’s expects that he might stay around for a while, and we certainly hope that’s the case!

Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs has a deep backstory, and it is quite mysterious! During some demolition done during their construction of the new building, Gideon’s discovered a vintage ledger and old daguerreotype of the former owner of this location when it “used to be” a bookshop. The former owner was a “purveyor of rare books and antiquities.”

Hmmm…we wonder if this Gargoyle is part of that mysterious backstory or if it’s got a whole other tale of its own. We can’t wait to learn more! We only wish we could hand the Gargoyle some cookies so he wouldn’t look so sad.

In terms of other updates, we spotted some work going on at Gideon’s and some more features that have been added to the building, like that black covering with the “G” in the center.

We are SO looking forward to visiting this spot once it’s all complete. Gideon’s Bakehouse is set to open in Disney Springs before the end of the year with some special holiday cookies and more! We’re on the lookout for an official opening date and will definitely let you know when we hear any other updates.
