Just a few days ago, we shared with you that indoor dining could be coming soon to Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort.
Now, we’ve got an official update from Disney about indoor dining at Downtown Disney.
Although Downtown Disney is open, indoor seating at its restaurants has been unavailable because indoor dining was suspended statewide by California’s Governor Newsom in an attempt to mitigate the spread of the pandemic. Restaurants in California, including those in Downtown Disney, have been restricted to offering outdoor dining for quite some time now.
Recently, however, Orange County — the county where Disneyland is located — advanced to the next reopening tier in California. We shared with you that this meant indoor dining could be offered at restaurants in the county in limited numbers.
Yesterday, we walked around Downtown Disney and spoke to some of the restaurants there to see what they knew in terms of when their restaurants would be offering indoor seating. Some were not sure, but others did tell us that their restaurants planned to offer indoor seating soon. But, we hadn’t seen any official word from Disney itself about indoor dining.
Now, we’ve spotted a change on one of Disney’s websites regarding the ability to offer indoor dining in Downtown Disney. According to an update from Disney on the “Downtown Disney District: Know Before You Go” website — “…at this time, following state and county guidelines, limited indoor seating will be permitted; all other seating is outdoor patio only.”
According to the current regulations from the City of Anaheim, capacity for indoor dining is limited to 25% capacity or a total of 100 people, whichever is less.
We’ll be on the lookout for more Disneyland and Downtown Disney news, and we’ll let you know what we find.
