When we think of iconic Disney World snacks, Mickey Waffles are one of the first eats that come to mind!
How can you make this incredible, classic Disney World treat even better? Putting them in an ice cream sundae might do the trick! So, when we came across the Mickey Waffle Sundae at BoardWalk Bakery, we HAD to try it — for science, of course!
When we strolled into BoardWalk Bakery, the first thing that caught our eye was the sign for the Mickey Waffle Sundae — three of our FAVORITE words! Guests can purchase the sundae in a regular bowl for $10.01…
…or in a Mickey Ears souvenir bowl for $15.97.
That Mickey Ears bowl was too cute to pass up, so we opted for the upgrade!
The sundae comes with one chocolate Mickey Waffle, one vanilla Mickey Waffle, cookie dough ice cream, whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry on top. In other words, the makings of a solid, classic sundae with an extra twist!
We were extra excited about the chocolate Mickey Waffle since those are generally much harder to find than the classic Mickey Waffles!
And that chocolate Mickey Waffle did NOT disappoint — it had a perfect consistency! In fact, the whole sundae was delicious! As we expected, it had all of the makings of a great, classic sundae, and the addition of the Mickey Waffles really elevated the texture and added more flavors into the mix!
The only downfall of this treat — it doesn’t come with much ice cream. Since the bowl isn’t very deep, the waffles take up a lot of the space!
So, if you’re looking for an ice cream heavy dessert, this one might not be for you. But other than that, we’d say it’s a winner in our book! And just look at that adorable souvenir bowl!
So, after our scientific research, we think adding Mickey Waffles into an ice cream sundae DOES make them even better! But of course, we’re willing to keep testing this theory as many times as we can! Note that you CAN get a Mickey Waffle sundae at the All Star Resorts, but since 1) they’re not open right now, and 2) they don’t have CHOCOLATE Mickey Waffles, the Boardwalk is the place to be!
Can you still resort hop in Disney World? Yes, but you need to know this first.
