That’s why we’re so excited for the debut of Season 2 of the series this October! Plus, Season 3 is already in the works!! We’re pretty excited to see what these next two seasons have in store. And today, we just got an interesting tidbit of information about the upcoming season — Robert Rodriguez has been confirmed as a Season 2 director!
Robert Rodriguez, known for Spy Kids and Sin City announced that he worked as a director on The Mandalorian on his twitter, @Rodriguez. The filmmaker posted a photo of himself alongside Baby Yoda captioned “I am truly humbled to say I have now had the very rare privilege of directing the biggest star in the universe.”

We can’t wait to see what kind of awesome episodes Rodriguez worked on. Maybe he worked alongside new talent like Rosario Dawson, Michael Bien, and Bill Burr? Or maybe he directed returning characters played by Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, and more!
