What could make your May the 4th be even BETTER now that The Rise of Skywalker is on Disney+, you ask? How about a brand new Star Wars movie set to debut in theaters?!?
That’s right — Disney just laid an AT-AT-sized bombshell on us by announcing that a new Star Wars film is officially in the works! Academy Award-winning writer and director of Disney+’s The Mandalorian, Taika Waititi, has signed on to direct and co-write the new feature film!

Helping Waititi with the screenplay will be Academy Award nominee Krysty Wilson-Cairns! And don’t forget — Disney also recently announced a new female-centric Star Wars series will be coming to Disney+ soon created by Emmy-nominated writer Leslye Headland!
