News! SeaWorld Parks Extend Closures Until Further Notice

We’re learning more today about theme park and entertainment companies that are extending their temporary closures.

In addition to Disney’s announcement today, we have learned that SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment will also be extending their park closures.

SeaWorld announced today that they will be extending their temporary closure . At this time, there is no reopening date set. The following statement was made on their website on March 27, 2020:

The following is SeaWorld’s original statement. Their parks have been closed as of March 16, and much like Disney, they had the original intention of remaining closed through the end of the month. We now know that the closure will extend beyond that.

In their statement above, it’s noted that their animal care experts will continue to look after the animals that are under SeaWorld’s care.

It was also announced today that SeaWorld will be furloughing over 90% of their employees during this closure. SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment hosts a portfolio of various theme park brands. In addition to SeaWorld in Orlando, this includes other SeaWorld locations around America, as well as Busch Gardens, Discovery Cove, Aquatica, Water Country USA, and Sesame Place.
