Jambo, friends! We’re back with another edition of What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort!
We know we just took you on a tour of the recently remodeled rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (click here if you haven’t seen them yet!), but now we’re heading back to these three Disney World resorts to see what construction, food, and merchandise updates we can spot!
Construction Update at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Disney’s Animal Kingdom isn’t just gussying up its rooms! As you may already know, Jambo House’s exterior has been undergoing some touch-ups recently, and now the entrance has just received a new ramp! Workers were still putting the finishing touches on it when we swung by!
We also noticed a new valet stand has cropped at the entrance to Jambo House, complete with a large bottle of hand sanitizer!
Further down, there was some additional work being done along the sidewalk. A few construction walls are still present, but work seems to be progressing right along!
It also appears the work outside of Jiko has wrapped up. The last several times we’ve stopped by, we’ve noticed workers and construction equipment around this area, but today it was all clear!

Merchandise Update at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Zawadi Marketplace
A few weeks ago, we spotted the “Long Live the King” Shirt, and today we saw more Scar-themed merch, like this “Long Live the King” Mug for $19.99! We bet Scar takes his coffee black like his heart!
You can even see Scar’s eyes mean muggin’ you on its back!
We also discovered this “Long Live the King” Artwork by Jason Carne for $150!
It’s a signed, limited edition print on canvas which includes a certificate of authenticity!
And if you’re looking to take a plunge in the pool but forgot your swimsuit, check out these Men’s Mickey Swim Trunks for $29.95!
They even have a very subtle design of Mickey embroidered on the leg!
Food Update at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Centertown Market Grab & Go
Talk about staying power — the Underwater Princess Cupcake we reviewed last November is still available at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort! It consists of pineapple cake filled and topped with coconut buttercream, blue and lavender icing, and blue crisp pearls. It is adorned with a lavender seashell, and graham cracker “sand” and costs $5.49 or one Disney Dining Plan snack credit!

Merchandise Update at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Calypso Trading Post
We finally picked up the latest Classic Minnie Ears for $29.99 on our way through Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort! The polka dots are much bigger on the newer version and the actual ears themselves are much fuzzier!
Find out how the Updated Classic Minnie Ears stack up against the older version here!
We also spotted this fancy new Dream Create Inspire Journal for $19.99 from the new ABCDisney Collection which we also stumbled across at Magic Kingdom recently!
Find out more info on the new Dream Creat Inspire Journal HERE!
Food Update at Disney’s Riviera Resort
Bar Riva
Despite Bar Riva being relatively new, it looks like they’ve already begun changing up their menu! Today we noticed the Harissa-Spiced Chicken Salad Pita and the Shrimp Salad have been removed. Since Bar Riva and Primo Piatto share many of the same menu items, it looks like they’ve also discontinued serving these offerings according to their online menu.

A Cast Member we spoke with mentioned they might be getting replaced with something else soon, so stay tuned!
Well, friends, that’s it for this installment of What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort! We’ll be back soon with more construction, food, and merchandise updates for ya just as soon as we spot ’em!
