REVIEW! It’s Empanada Time at the Disneyland Food and Wine Festival!

We are getting our eat and drink ON at the 2020 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival!

Now through April 21, you can feast to your hearts content at Marketplace Booths AND year round locations around the park offering up their own exclusive treats!

The Outdoor Vending Carts around the park are getting festive themselves with exclusive festival offerings.

We’ve found that when Disneyland does Mexican food, it usually does it very well — so we’re excited to see two new empanadas at this year’s festival. (Do you remember the delicious empanadas from the Festival of the Holidays?)

The Savory Empanada is served with a Chipotle Crema Sauce and stuffed with Red Chile, Beef, and Potato.

Ours was served piping hot and fresh, making for a nice and flaky pastry. The filling ingredients worked well together offering a little zest without being too spicy.

Priced at $6.00, the side of chipotle cream complimented the dish and offered a nice kick to the empanada.

The Sweet Empanada is a baked pastry pocket stuffed with warm, sweet apple filling, that is then rolled in cinnamon sugar, and served with a side of Caramel Sauce.

Wow! This was SO GOOD. Very similar to an apple turnover, this brought us right back to a crisp Fall day. The cinnamon sugar coating was delicious and we would have loved to have even more!
