Even though it’s Christmastime in Disneyland, we haven’t exactly hit Thanksgiving just yet!
While there’s a bunch of themed Christmas treats around the park, you can Fall into a celebration of the good food and cool weather of BOTH holidays with the new holiday menu items in the park!
The Thanks-Mas Sandwich and Butternut Squash Soup are being served up at Jolly Holiday Bakery! (And, they look INCREDIBLE.)
The Thanks-Mas Sandwich is a combo of your favorite items from Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, made of oven-roasted turkey, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce between two slices of rustic bread. And, it comes with a side of those SUPER GREAT house-made chips!
Honestly, if we could have this sandwich every day, we would. The turkey is shaved a little thicker, which balances the stuffing and chunks of cranberry in the sauce. The gravy melts into the bread and the turkey, adding a slightly smoky flavor to everything.
The bread has a DELICIOUS crunch as you bite into the sandwich. It didn’t get soggy one bit, even after we dipped it into the soup (more on that later!). Although the sandwich has some savory elements, the burst of cranberry really comes through (tart, just like we like it). The house-made chips are a wonderful side since the saltiness contrasts the flavors of the sandwich in the best way.
The sandwich pairs very well with the creamy Butternut Squash Soup. Although it might not look like anything special, this soup is one of the best we’ve EVER tried in a Disney park. The flavors are sweet and buttery, while the soup has a slightly thick (but not too much!) consistency that kept us wanting to eat bite after bite.
The soup comes with a breadstick, which is good, but nothing outstanding. However, we’ve got a lil DFB pro tip for ya that’ll knock your Christmas socks off!
If you dip the house-made chips into the soup, the saltiness from the chips tastes AH-MAZING with the sweetness from the Butternut Squash Soup! If you’re looking for a quick snack in the parks, this version of “chips and dip” is so so so satisfying.
You can get the Butternut Squash Soup for $5.99 and the Thanks-Mas Sandwich for $10.99 for BOTH Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Plus, if you have any room for dessert (we always do), you can check out all the Christmas treats at Jolly Holiday too while you’re there!
