Disney’s Animal Kingdom is welcoming the newest member to the park’s family, a baby gorilla!

“It’s a Girl” Cupcake

Grace (named after the GRACE gorilla sanctuary in the Democratic Republic of Congo) was born on May 1st, and Disney was happy to announce that both she and her mother, Kashata, are doing well. And for a limited time at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in the park’s Africa, you can celebrate Grace’s arrival with the “It’s A Girl” Cupcake!

An edible image of mom and baby gorilla tops the pile of bright yellow buttercream. A fondant leaf and blue and pink crispy pearls provide the garnish.

A chocolate base is filled with oodles of pink crispy chocolate pearls that spill out of the cupcake in honor of the new baby girl!

(Disney calls them “gender-revealing” pearls, but the surprise is a teeny bit spoiled by the cupcake’s sign 😉 .)

Still, overall it’s a very good, albeit simple, cupcake and a super fun way to say “Welcome!” to Grace!

And, of course, as Disney recommends on the sign, it’s a great idea to visit the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail before or after enjoying your cupcake!
