Greetings from Hurricane Hanna’s along Stormalong Bay! Earlier this week we let you know that Yacht & Beach Clubs’ Hurricane Hanna’s has some new menu items, including a new burger we couldn’t wait to try…so we did!
Today we were excited to dig into the Shipwreck Angus Bacon Cheeseburger.
This brand new burger is made of short ground rib and brisket, and topped with fried shrimp, bacon, cheddar cheese, and a Cajun remoulade sauce! It’s served with your choice of Waffle Fries or Apple Slaw.
Our first impression is that is a well constructed – albeit uniquely- constructed burger. As you can see, the Fried Shrimp are literally atop the sandwich. If you wanted, you could eat those separately. Or, you can do as we did, and stuff them into the burger!
So this burger has a lot going on…does it work? It sure does!! The meat itself is very tasty and you can really tell it’s a high quality patty. The fried shrimp add a perfect crunch and flavor, without being overwhelmingly salty. And the bacon…well…how can you go wrong with bacon!
The best part of this burger, though, might be the Cajun remoulade sauce! It’s definitely got pickles in it, which add a nice zip, even if you aren’t a huge pickle fan. The sauce has just the right amount of kick as well, where it adds flavor and some heat, but it’s not overwhelmingly spicy or hot.
Overall, this is a step-up from your average burger. The Cajun remoulade sauce and fried shrimp really make it unique. It is a bit pricey, at almost $15, however with a Disney Dining Plan this is a great bang for your buck choice.
