Sometimes we see those changes coming and sometimes we don’t. Last month, a few things definitely caught us off guard. Here are the three most unexpected things that happened in Disney World in August!

People can easily spend thousands and thousands of dollars on family vacations between just the hotels, tickets, and food alone. That’s not even taking into account things like airfare or stuff you might have to buy for your trip! So, we’re always on the lookout for ways that you can save money when you’re in the parks. One of the ways to do this is by being aware of ticket prices. They vary from day to day and from park to park, so you can save a lot by picking dates (or parks) that cost less than others. A lot of things have changed about Disney World since the global pandemic shut down the parks in 2020.

The Disney Dining Plan disappeared, Extra Magic Hours shifted into something new, and the free FastPass+ was replaced by Genie+, which you have to pay for. Another thing that switched up was how you plan your Disney World vacation — you now need both a theme park ticket AND a theme park reservation in order to get into the parks. This system doesn’t seem to be leaving any time soon, but it IS changing.
