It’s almost time for PIXAR FEST!!

So, you might say it was kind of a BIG DEAL out at the D23 Expo, what with the announcements about the new Skipper Canteen Jungle Cruise-themed restaurant coming to Adventureland, and a little thing called STAR WARS LAND coming to both Disneyland and Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.
Of course, there was even more news than that… from Soarin’ Around the World updates coming to Epcot to more information about Pandora — The World of AVATAR, and, of course, Toy Story Land also on the way to Hollywood Studios.

C’mon kids!! Everyone into the Studios for another look at Hey Howdy Hey Takeway in Pixar Place!!
This is one of my favorite little kiosks in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Lots of folks just wander on by, but there are so many cool themeing elements here to gawk at!!

Hey Howdy Hey Takeaway is a wagon-shaped kiosk located across from the entrance to Toy Story Midway Mania.

Theming for the spot comes from the Toy Story franchise — specifically, Toy Story 2, which explores Woody’s history as a TV personality.
You’ll remember that in that film, Woody learns that “he” starred on a TV show, along with Jessie, Bullseye, and the Prospector. And of course, there were many products created to promote the kids show. (Sound familiar??)

Time to head To Infinity…and Beyond! (Except you’ll pretty much stay in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.) Recently, I headed over for a late lunch (early dinner?) at Pizza Planet to see what was up!
A perennial kids’ favorite, families LOVE this place! The pizza-heavy menu and oodles of video games make this a good family stop in a park that’s not necessarily known for its kid-oriented counter service options. And while the food probably won’t wow you, the chance to let the kids burn off some energy might.
Did you know that Pizza Planet has been mentioned in every Pixar film except The Incredibles? Remember the “YO” truck in Toy Story? Pizza Planet Delivery Guy!
Modeled after the fictional restaurant Pizza Planet from the Toy Story franchise (complete with a huge arcade!), you’ll feel like you’ve stepped right into the film as you enter the place.

When I was a kid, I always loved to see things that were larger-than-life — remember in the 80’s when those giant, person-sized pencils and huge crayons were all the rage, and you just knew that rich people like Lisa Turtle and Webster and that kid from Silver Spoons had them in their houses?
Well, that’s what it’s like to wander through Pixar Place in Disney World these days. You’re shrunk to the size of the Toy Story characters, so everything is built on a massive scale and meticulously detailed.
