Today, Disney World and Universal Orlando announced phased reopenings following the impact of Hurricane Ian. The Orlando International Airport’s reopening still seemed to be in the air, however, due to damage and flooding.

Hurricane (now Tropical Storm) Ian has impacted various areas of Florida and its effects are still being felt.

Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal have all closed for a short period of time, school closures have been announced, and other adjustments have been made. When it comes to travel, the Orlando International Airport announced that it would be closed starting September 28th and now we have an update.
With things getting back to normal after the pandemic, we’ve seen a HUGE increase in travel within this year.

Airports crowds have picked back up in 2022, and we’ve seen some airports struggle to deal with the demand due to staffing shortages. Because of this, there were thousands of flight cancelations this summer. But how has that affected customer satisfaction at airports around the country? Well, the numbers are in, and some airports are ranked much higher than others.
Hurricane Ian is on a path to hit Florida later this week, so the state is taking several precautions in order to keep people safe.

Storm warnings and watches have been issued for many counties, and mandatory evacuations are also in place for some counties where the hurricane is expected to make landfall. In addition, some Orlando airports are going to close this week. In light of the incoming storm, Disney World’s cancelation and refund policies have been relaxed so that people can adjust their plans more easily. Hurricane Ian is currently a Category 4 hurricane. The storm is expected to make landfall along the west coast of Florida on Wednesday, September 28th. In preparation, Florida officials have issued mandatory evacuations in some counties and various extreme weather watches and warnings throughout the state. A tornado watch has now been issued for Central Florida.
