2024 has been a year full of change at Disney World!

One of the biggest changes happened over the summer when we said goodbye to Genie+ and hello to Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. This new pay-to-skip-the-line service completely changed the way that Lightning Lanes were purchased and booked, and in some way, the new system mimics its predecessor, FastPass+. Many people seem to glance over two other changes that were made with this new system, but they are essential to think about, especially when planning your trip!

On August 7th, the Walt Disney Company an earnings report revealed lower demand for the company’s domestic theme parks, including Disney World. Calling it “flat” theme park attendance, Disney Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston suggested that the theme park business is in a healthy spot, but slowing down at a tolerable rate. With massive expansions involving several beloved IPs on the horizon, this bump in the road is not expected to be permanent, so for those looking to take advantage of lower Disney World attendance, now’s the time.

We love meeting characters in Disney World!

Meeting characters is not just for kids! Kids and adults alike enjoy these special interactions. Hugging your favorite character can make anyone’s day extra special. There are some characters that you can find regularly around the parks. Joy, Mickey, Minnie, Ariel, Edna Mode, Olaf, and more have daily meet and greets in designated locations that you can visit. However, there are a few characters that roam at random times on random days, and some characters are extremely RARE to see out and about. The other day, we stumbled upon one of these rare meet-and-greets!

Disney’s New Lightning Lane System Has One HUGE Problem

The Genie+ system in Disney World is changing in a BIG way soon!

New Lightning Lane changes are coming

Genie+ is the skip-the-line service in Disney World. Visitors pay for the service — which costs anywhere from $15 to $39 per day, depending on the season and demand — and can then use it to reserve Lightning Lanes throughout the day. When their reservation time arrives, they skip the standby line and use the Lightning Lane instead, which means a lower wait time.

Genie+ has been in place since 2021, and now (almost three years after its initial debut) a BUNCH of changes are coming. We’ve been learning about the new system, which will be called Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and we’ve discovered one huge PROBLEM. [Read more…]

Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was a brand-NEW holiday party that debuted in 2023. It’s returning this year on thirteen select nights from November 9th through December 21st, 2024!
