When it comes to staying at any Disney World hotel, including the Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, choosing the best room comes down to the old real estate principle: Location, Location, and LOCATION!
Specifically, what kind of locations a guest prefers. Near amenities? As isolated as possible? Whatever you’re looking for, we’ve tracked down some of the best room options at Port Orleans – French Quarter for every kind of guest!
Let’s begin with the rooms closest to the main building complex, AKA Port Orleans Square. The bustling center of the resort is home to the ornate lobby…
…the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, the French Quarter’s main primary quick service eatery…
…the Scat Cat’s Club – Cafe & Lounge, as well as the resort’s gift shop.
Rooms 4127 and 4128 are directly next to Sassalouga…
…making them technically the closest to the main building.
On the other hand, some guests may want to be far from Port Orleans Square’s hustle and bustle and the surrounding crowds or just simply want to be immersed in the resort’s natural beauty and crafted landscape.
Rooms 6125 and 6126 are all the way towards the back of building 6, facing the water…
…so, guests staying there are secluded as they aren’t facing the hotel’s “traffic.” They also provide a gorgeous, nature-focused view.
Beyond the main, there are other amenities guests may want to stay near (or avoid).
For example, 5110-5115 are the closest to the hotel’s Mardi Gras-themed Doubloon Lagoon Pool and its 51-foot water slide.
Meanwhile, rooms 5105 & 5106…
…open directly to a path that leads straight to the hotel’s laundry mat.
Once you choose your hotel, you’ll need to start thinking about dining. Between the reviews, menus, and reservation strategies, it’s a lot to sort through. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing!
So, once you’ve figured out which of these rooms is for you, how can you get it? The best way to try would be to request your desired room (or the desired area of your room) at the front desk when you arrive at the hotel. Now, you CAN try and call before your arrival, but in our experience, it’s better to do it in person. Also, once you make the request, prepare yourself to possibly wait a bit longer than for a general room.
Just remember, requesting a specific room or area will NOT guarantee you’ll be able to get one. So please, be kind to the front desk Cast Members — they’re doing their best to help you! Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World hotel tips.
