NEW Closure Revealed for Disney's Art of Animation Hotel

We don’t want to come off as dramatic, but…when will we get a break from all the closures happening at Disney World?!

While we will be seeing stuff reopen at the Disney World parks very soon, it feels like a ton of Disney World Resort hotels have been getting hit with closures and refurbishments lately. If you have a trip coming up, and you’re thinking about staying at the Art of Animation, you may want to be aware of a tiny closure at the hotel.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is a more budget-friendly option at Disney World. It’s a popular spot that’s themed to some of Disney and Pixar’s most iconic films.

Right now, the Righteous Reef playground at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is closed for maintenance from April 20th to April 28th. You’ll find the playground in the Finding Nemo section of the resort, which features Squirt with coral-reef slides. It’s a fun and cute spot for kiddos!

While it’s not a massive deal, this is a spot where little ones can often go to have fun and get out some energy that isn’t at the busy parks. Luckily, the closure window is very short, and the park is expected to open at some point early next week.

Art of Animation

Guests may see or hear maintenance in the Finding Nemo area until the work is complete. Disney is usually good at staying out of the way of guests when working, but you’ll want to be aware of this if you’re staying in the Finding Nemo section of the resort.

There are still some fun options at the resort for little ones to make up for the closed playground. Check out the Schoolyard Spray Ground at Art of Animation, which you’ll find in the Finding Nemo area. It’s a colorful splash pad that features Nemo’s classmates and fun themed decor.

Of course, there’s also the Big Blue Pool where you can go for a dip!
