Disney Cruise Line just dropped a new discount that includes 50% off sailings for kids, so now might be the time to finally book your dream cruise. From unlimited ice cream, tons of characters and entertainment, and some of the best food, this might just be the year of cruising.
But is this deal really worth it, considering you have to pay full price for adults? Let’s break down the deal and see how much you’re really saving on the cruise.
Now through June 14th, you can use the Together at Sea offer for 50% off kids’ fares for cruises departing between October 2026 and March 2027. It’s available on select sailings, excluding the Disney Adventure, and the discount will be applied to the fare of the third, fourth, and fifth guests who are age 17 or younger at the time of sailing.
For the deal, you’ll need to purchase two full-fare guests in the same stateroom. If you already have a reservation, you can call Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent to add the offer to your reservation.
Let’s take a look at the Disney Destiny, one of their newest cruise ships that sails out of Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean. They offer 4- and 5- night cruises, and we’re going to take a look at a 4-night cruise in July.
For two adults and two kids, a verandah room, it costs $6,555. Here’s a breakdown per person:
- Adult 1 — $1,992
- Adult 2 — $1,992
- Child 1 — $996
- Child 2 — $996
Then there are about $579 of taxes, fees, and port expenses. If we apply the offer:
- Adult 1 — $1,992
- Adult 2 — $1,992
- Child 1 — $498
- Child 2 — $498
Let’s assume the taxes and fees stay the same at $579, but it would technically be a little cheaper, but this is just to give us an idea. The new total would be $5,559, about $1,000 cheaper than before!
Now, while you pay for the cruise before your sailing, you’ll want to budget for things like additional drinks and dining experiences, excursions, tips, souvenirs, and anything else you might want during your cruise.
It seems like 50% is worth it to save about $1,000! If you weren’t planning on taking a cruise at all, this might not be saving too much money since you were originally planning on spending nothing, but if you were in the works of planning a cruise or already have one booked, this is definitely an offer you don’t want to miss.
We also love that so many ships are included in the sailing! This is a great opportunity to check out a ship you’ve always wanted to see. For me, it’s definitely the Disney Destiny, which is Disney’s first heroes and villains themed ship that has a Hercules stage show.
