Can you keep a secret? We aren’t joking here!

Pat O’Brien’s at Universal
Speakeasy is back at Pat O’Brien’s at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk! Speakeasy is an exclusive experience for guests that is literally hidden upstairs, which you get to by using the stairs in the back of Pat O’Brien’s. We got the chance to check it out with an early preview before it returns, and we just had to share our experience with you!
Like we said, the speakeasy is hidden upstairs in Pat O’Brien’s. We know it might sound crazy, but this venue requires a password. You get the password from the staff. Speaking of, we managed to get our secret membership card!

Secret membership card!
When you get to the door, you’ll need to knock and wait for someone to come. The door has a sliding peephole/window where you give the password. Someone came to the door, we spoke the password, and we were let inside.

Look at the door!
The place has a beautiful atmosphere and features live jazz, curated cocktails, and small bites.

Inside the venue!
If you choose to sit outside, you can hear the piano downstairs, and it turns into instant entertainment as you’re watching over CityWalk. We talked to multiple managers tonight, and they all said the menus are unique to this speakeasy.

Outside the venue!
Everybody was involved to make this a unique, separate experience from Pat O’Brien’s. We love how entertainment is offered inside via a jazz musician. The inside also has smoky effects, adding to the speakeasy feeling.

It’s awesome in here!
Of course, we couldn’t show up and not try any food or drinks. The menu had a lot of interesting and tasty-looking options.

The menu!
First, we decided to try the Millionaire Bacon for $13.95. The Millionaire Bacon was bourbon, chocolate-covered bacon on skewers. However, the version we had did not have skewers. The bacon was perfectly cooked with a balance of crunch and chew for a very pleasant texture.

Millionaire Bacon
The dark chocolate was very rich, and although we couldn’t taste the bourbon, we do think it adds to the richness of the chocolate. It truly balances it, making it not as sweet as we anticipated. This is a fun snack!

This is tasty!
It goes incredibly well with their strong cocktails, and it’s a fun way to add quintessential bacon to the menu. The white chocolate drizzle has a little lightness at the end with a vanilla kick, which is very pleasant. They only give you three pieces of bacon for an order, which does feel like a lot for the price of $13.95.

This is a fun but pricey dish
Next, we had the Deviled Eggs for $7.95. The eggs were also perfectly cooked, and the filling was so light and airy. The mustard that they used really does come through, and it is covered with bacon, which adds a smoky finish.

Deviled Eggs
They were some of the best deviled eggs that we’d had in a very long time. The bacon was also cooked perfectly and added a texture that was very pleasant, with a chew at the end. The softness of the egg and the light whipped filling it balanced out all the textures, really making this dish sing!

This was delicious!
We got two drinks while we were here! The first was the Sirloin Sazerac for $21.00. The Sirloin Sazerac was sirloin-infused pigs’ back, rye whiskey, Pierre Ferrand Cognac, sugar, bitters, and a rinse of absinthe. This is one of their signature cocktails, and it is such a balanced drink.

Sirloin Sazerac
It is so surprising that you get the cognac at the front with this sweetness that lingers in your mouth, and then at the end, to get the smoke from the sirloin. The absinthe wash just adds an aromatic quality that is pleasant, so there’s none of the anise flavor that most people attribute to absinthe. It instead adds more body to the actual drink, and it adds a little almost seasoning to the sirloin, which is very odd to say.

This drink was so interesting!
Lastly, we grabbed the Gilded Old Fashioned for $21.00. The Gilded Old Fashioned was knob creek bourbon, rose champagne syrup, and bitters. Just like the other drink, this was a perfectly balanced old-fashioned!

Gilded Old Fashioned
The champagne syrup added a little sweetness, but because there are two different kinds of bitters used, the sweetness is taken down, so it’s not an overly sweet old-fashioned, but it’s also not an overly strong drink. The creek is very smooth, and this was a very good old-fashioned cocktail.

Another thumbs up from us!
Not only was the experience fun, unique, and entertaining, but the food and drink offerings here hit! We’ll be finding ourselves here soon enough. Speakeasy will be open Thursday through Sunday, starting at 6pm. Open to all guests who are over the age of 21!

Here’s what we got!
