If I Had a Nickel for Every Viral Disney Animatronic Problem This Week…I'd Have Two Nickels

You guys, it’s a pretty rough week to be a Disney character!

In the past few years, Disney has made some pretty incredible character animatronics, particularly for its international parks. They’re SO cool to check out, but sometimes they have malfunctions and problems, just like their older counterparts. And this week? Well, there were some unfortunate incidents for TWO Disney characters.

World of Frozen

First up, we’re heading to World of Frozen at the newly renamed Disney Adventure World in Disneyland Paris. Here, a walking, talking Olaf animatronic has appeared, and he’s absolutely ADORABLE. Fans are rightfully obsessed with him.

But just a few days after his premiere, he was walking out to greet guests and had a little malfunction. A user named @magictourclub shared a video of Olaf in Disney Adventure World in front of a crowd where he appears to go off-balance and falls backward.

The wild part of this is that his carrot nose POPPED RIGHT OFF. Thankfully, Cast Members were nearby and were able to get him up safely and escort him backstage. It’s possible that he was just standing on an uneven piece of ground at the time, but we’ll keep you updated if any more details are released. Poor Olaf!

Fantasy Springs

Another more recent addition to Disney parks is Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea. This land opened in 2024 and has areas themed to Frozen, Peter Pan, and Tangled. One of the highlights is the Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival Ride. It has some very impressive animatronics and beautiful visuals!

One scene of the ride features Rapunzel up in her tower, and that particular scene is outdoors. Unfortunately, the animatronic has now been discovered by the local crows. Twitter/X user @k_maru_dau_baby shared a video of birds literally pulling out Rapunzel’s hair!

That is ROUGH man! This one’s probably going to require more immediate repair and likely some kind of deterrent to keep the wildlife away. That hair is not nest material, folks! (Especially since she’s known for having particularly beautiful hair!)
