When it comes to heavy Disney news cycles, some months stand out more than others. March 2026 was one of those months.
So much happened in March that it’s tough to know where to begin. Some new Bluey snacks are coming to the Disney Parks, Disney+ has added vertical videos to its platform, new discounts were announced, a certain ABC dating show had its season canceled before its premiere after significant controversy, some upcoming Disney blockbuster films got official release dates, and the new Disney cruise ship — the Disney Believe — was announced! It’s safe to say that March was PACKED with important news. However, what stuck with us most was the revelation of some important dates we need to circle in our Disney World calendars.
If there’s one thing Disney loves to do, it’s drop a whole bunch of news at the same time, so we have SO much to talk about. This summer at Disney World might just be the best one yet, with reopening dates and discounts to go along with it.
In March, Disney gave us tons of opening and reopening dates for attractions at Disney World — and they’re all coming up fairly soon!
Closed since August, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is set to reopen in Magic Kingdom with new ride vehicles, mobile blasters, interactive targets, updated lighting and sound effects, an updated score/picture souvenir offering, and a new show scene on April 8th, 2026!
We got a sneak peek, and we’re excited for Disney fans to experience this upgraded version of the ride!
Over in EPCOT, Soarin’ will transform into Soarin’ Across America this summer to honor the United States’ 250th birthday, and it was revealed that the change will OFFICIALLY take place on May 26th, 2026!
Soarin’ Around the World will close on May 13th as changes are implemented, which will include a scenic tour and celebration of many of the country’s most awe-inspiring areas.
Back at Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been closed for over a year, but the wait on this lengthy refurbishment is nearly over. We now know that the ride will reopen in early May!
Over the course of this refurb, the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness received a new track, some new effects, and a new Rainbow Caverns scene to go along with an updated narrative.
Bluey and her family made their way to Disneyland recently, and they’ll be coming to Disney World too, starting May 26th, 2026!
Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can meet Bluey and Bingo, discover animals native to Australia at Jumping Junction, and play special games directly from Bluey episodes!
Finally, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, May 26th will also be the day Walt Disney Studios launches in the space previously occupied by Animation Courtyard and Star Wars: Launch Bay.
This new offering will feature animation classes with an animatronic Olaf, character meet-and-greets, and more interactive elements that bring our favorite animated characters and stories to life!
