Disney’s Hollywood Studios is known for many things — fantastic theming in Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land, for one, as well as being home to one of the most beloved nighttime shows on property, but it’s not really known for its food as much as other parks with their iconic snacks.
Now, listen, will you find something to eat? Yes, especially if you’re a pickier eater, but if you want a meal, or even a snack, that’s going to really impress you, they’re few and far between in this park. However, one of our favorite spots to stop for a drink, especially before seeing Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, is Baseline Tap House. While they have a fantastic beer selection, is it worth a stop for a quick snack and a non-alcoholic drink? Let’s check it out!
Baseline Tap House is located on Grand Avenue, and it pays homage to Figueroa Printing Company, the mom-and-pop print house that once enjoyed a flourishing partnership with Disney Studios. Previously, this spot was known as Writer’s Stop and was a bookstore/coffee house, and while members of our team really miss that version of the spot, we do love what it is now, too.
This is a full bar, so you can chat with the bartenders and ask them politely to make you something special, or something that may not be on the menu, but there are also a few non-alcoholic drink options here, as well as some bites to snack on.
We started by grabbing the Wild Strawberry Lemonade for $6.29, which is made with Minute Maid Lemonade. As you may be able to guess, this was your classic strawberry lemonade, similar to what you can buy at the store. It wasn’t anything super special, and it was more on the sweet side rather than a mix of sweet and sour with the lemon flavor, so while it was refreshing for a hot day, if you don’t like overly sweet drinks, this may not be for you.
To eat, we snagged the Bavarian Pretzel with Cheese Fondue and Spicy Mustard for $12. While we do feel the pretzel itself could have used a little more flavor, the cheese and mustard really helped to elevate the flavor.
The cheese was incredibly creamy, and the mustard had both a heat and a strong, tangy flavor. The pretzel is a little dry without them, though we did appreciate that it was softer than a Mickey pretzel (which we feel is an upgrade). Again, is it anything special? The pretzel itself, no, but if you love cheese and mustard, it may be worth grabbing!
