For almost forty years, the Disney Legends award has been the highest honor the Walt Disney Company can offer, bestowed on performers, executives, Cast Members, Imagineers, and creatives who’ve made a lasting impact on the company’s legacy.
In late March 2026, Disney announced details on this year’s Legends ceremony, which will take place at the D23 Event and will once again be hosted by longtime Disney-affiliated host Ryan Seacrest.
The 2026 class of Disney Legend inductees includes:
- Chris Berman: A longtime ESPN personality well known for hosting NFL Primetime and bestowing alliterative nicknames on athletes.
- Jerry Bruckheimer: A legendary Hollywood producer well known for countless hit films, including the Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure franchises.
- Susan Egan: Broadway actress who originated the role of Belle in the Broadway musical adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, and provided the voices of Megara in Hercules and Rose Quartz in Steven Universe.
- Eric Goldberg: Longtime Disney animator best known for being the lead animator of the Genie in Aladdin, amongst countless other memorable characters.
- Anne Hathaway: Academy Award-winning actress known for numerous memorable roles, including in The Princess Diaries franchise for Disney.
- Kim Irvine: A longtime Disney Imagineer known for work on Disneyland attractions, including The Haunted Mansion. Irvine is the daughter of Imagineers Harvey and Leota Toombs, both of whom were also longtime Disney Imagineers.
- Dwayne Johnson: Professional wrestling superstar-turned Hollywood MEGA star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the most recognizable faces in the world, and has become a Disney mainstay thanks to his portrayal of Maui in Moana, Moana 2, and the upcoming live-action adaptation.
- The Jonas Brothers: Music megastars the Jonas Brothers have been associated with Disney for nearly the entirety of their two-decade career, including starring in the Camp Rock films and the Disney Channel series Jonas.
- Lin-Manuel Miranda: Well-known for the Broadway musicals He created the Broadway musicals In the Heights and Hamilton, Miranda’s work for Disney includes the music for the animated films Moana, Vivo, and Encanto.
- Alan Tudyk: Longtime character actor Alan Tudyk has built a long career in Hollywood, including appearing in every Disney animated film since 2012. He’s portrayed King Candy in Wreck-it-Ralph, Alistair Krei in Big Hero 6, Duke Weaselton in Zootopia, Heihei in Moana, KnowsMore in the Wreck-It Ralph sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet, Tuk Tuk in Raya and the Last Dragon, Pico in Encanto, Duffle in Strange World, and Valentino in Wish. Outside of animation, Tudyk played the droid K-2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Andor, and provided the voice of the parrot, Iago, in the 2019 live-action adaptation of Aladdin.
- Bob Iger: After joining the company as part of the ABC acquisition in 1996 (he was chief operating officer (COO) of Capital Cities/ABC at the time) Iger rose through the ranks quickly. He was named president of Disney in 2000, and succeeded Michael Eisner as CEO in 2005. During his initial tenure, Iger spearheaded the acquisitions of LucasFilm, Marvel, and 20th Century Fox. Iger first stepped down from the role in 2020, passing on the CEO title to Bob Chapek. He remained with the company, serving as He then was Executive Chairman until his formal retirement from the company on December 31, 2021. However, as controversy surrounding Chapek’s tenure continued to grow, Iger made a shocking return to the company and its CEO position on November 20th, 2022. Iger held the post until March 17th, 2026, when he passed the CEO title to Josh D’Amaro.
The ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, August 16th, the final day of the event. In a press release accompanying the announcement, Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro said, “D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is where we come together to give our incredible fans an early look at what’s coming next across our company, while celebrating the legacy of the extraordinary people whose creativity has shaped Disney into what it is today. It’s an honor to celebrate our Disney Legends — their impact is felt in everything we do, and recognizing them alongside the fans who love their work is what makes this event so meaningful.”
Furthermore, according to Disney, “The event will be filled with tributes and unforgettable moments to honor and celebrate the icons behind the magic who have made a lasting impact on Disney. The ceremony will once again be available on Disney+, allowing fans around the world to experience the magic wherever they are.” Stay tuned to DFB for further coverage of D23.
