Big things might be happening in Disney World and Disneyland, but Disney has been making some HUGE changes to its parks across the ocean, too. Disneyland Paris recently completely reimagined its Walt Disney Studios Park into Disney Adventure World, and it’s bringing new rides, new lands, new entertainment, and more to Paris.
Well, we got invited to visit Adventure World before it officially opens on March 29th, and we’re bringing you along with us to see, do, and — of course — EAT everything we can in the newly reimagined park. So, let’s go!
Disney Adventure World features five distinct lands, with more on the way. There’s also a new entrance where you can step on the red carpet! We felt like movie stars when we entered the park! World Premiere Plaza is where Disney and Pixar stories are coming to new life through rides, shows, and special characters. We started our adventure, appropriately enough, on Adventure Way, where we rode Raiponce Tangled Spin, Disney’s new Tangled ride.
Speaking of Rapunzel, we also got to see Musical Moment with Rapunzel and Flynn, a show with…well…Rapunzel and Flynn in the Adventure Way Gazebo Garden.
You can also buy Tangled merchandise at a small shop near the ride.
We also strolled around Adventure Way, just getting a feel for this new addition to the park.
Here’s the view as we make our way around the new area.
Then we saw ANOTHER musical moment: the Disney Marching Band. Here, Minnie leads the band as they play Disney songs. They were playing “Into the Unknown” and “Prince Ali” when they marched by us.
Oh, and you can meet Mickey and Minnie in new outfits that are Victorian-inspired! We just happened to run into Mickey, and oh, boy, does he look sharp!
We were REALLY excited, though, to see the new World of Frozen, which is similar to the one we nerded out over in Hong Kong Disneyland. It looks a lot like the same world we saw in Hong Kong, but it’s still SO impressive.
Of course, this is where you’ll find Frozen Ever After, the ride we’re sure we’ve ALL ridden in EPCOT. It was down for a large part of the day while we visited, but later on in the evening, we got to ride!
This was the same ride we know and love from both EPCOT and Hong Kong Disney, including the newer animatronics. We had just as much fun as we normally do on this fun, family-friendly ride!
Right around this area, you’ll also find the Arendelle Boutique, which is where you can purchase all things Frozen.
When we say there’s SO much merchandise here, we mean you’ll want to spend at LEAST a half hour in here to see it all and take it in.
You’ll find apparel for all ages, bags, ears, plushes, shoulder pals, kitchen essentials, and so much more. If you know you’ll want lots of merchandise, be sure to leave plenty of room in your suitcase!
We did have a chance to say hello to Mossie, a baby troll you’ll see wandering around the land. He’s ADORABLE.
This version of Arendelle also includes special meet and greets…oh, and animatronic Olaf!!! You can meet Anna and Elsa inside Arendelle Castle at the Royal Encounter. Yes, you can go INSIDE Arendelle Castle! The waiting area of the castle has so many nods to the Frozen movies.
It really did feel like we were inside Arendelle Castle.
Of course, Anna and Elsa were there to greet us!
We got to see A Celebration in Arendelle, a fun boat show that happens on the fjord in front of Arendelle Castle.
The show includes Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and Kristoff, as they come together to bring Arendelle traditions to life.
There are also some GREAT places to grab food in Disney Adventure World. Now, you know we’re all about the food. A new table-service restaurant is here, the Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, which is a Disney Princess character meal open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can dine in a regal restaurant space and meet Belle, Merida, Jasmine, Aurora, Mulan, and Ariel.
Eventually, the park will also have a land themed around The Lion King, with a Lion King ride. That won’t be open for a little while longer, though. We did see construction for that land, though!
We closed out the night by seeing the new Cascade of Lights show, which happens nightly on the lake. During this show, you’ll watch Disney and Pixar heroes embark on a captivating quest for destiny brought to life using fireworks, water screen projections, drone displays, and a unique panorama. It was an incredible show, that’s for sure!
This show was designed to be able to be seen from every angle, so it doesn’t matter where you’re standing — you’ll get a great show. The show was said to really tap into your emotions, partly by using characters like Mulan, Moana, Hercules, Judy Hopps, the Avengers, and Carl from Up.
We absolutely did feel a lot of emotions, and it was unlike any show we’ve ever seen! We feel Disney really outdid themselves here, and highly recommend making time to see the show when you visit.
We’ll be covering everything from Disney Adventure World, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
