Yoohoo! For the first time in… ever… we are awaiting the official opening of Hong Kong Disneyland’s World of Frozen!
We are so excited for this new addition to the Disney Parks and honestly, we’re just a tad bit jealous. The new addition to Hong Kong Disneyland will officially open to visitors on November 20th, 2023, and Disney is getting folks EXCITED by sharing all the details you need to know regarding the park, from attractions and characters, to restaurants and shops. In case you’ve got a trip to Hong Kong on the horizon, or in case you really want to be jealous, we’re here to share with you a COMPLETE GUIDE to this new land.
Alright, grab your coat and mittens, because we’re about to get FROZEN! Let’s go!
What does World of Frozen consist of?
World of Frozen is made up of two sections: Arendelle Village and Arendelle Forest. The village is, of course, where most of the citizens live! So, that’s where you can find Frozen Ever After, Tick Tock Toys & Collectibles, Golden Crocus Inn, and Northern Delights. Here, you’ll also be able to find Arendelle Castle, Friendship Fountain, Clock Tower Square, and the North Mountain which features ELSA’S ICE PALACE!!
King Agnarr Bridge (named after Elsa and Anna’s father) connects Arendelle Village to Arendelle Forest. In the forest, you’ll find Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, Playhouse in the Woods, Forest Fare, and Traveling Traders.
What RIDES are available?
What a lot of folks are MOST excited about are the RIDES!! We’ll briefly highlight each of those:
Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs
This family-friendly coaster is the FIRST Frozen-themed coaster, exclusive to Hong Kong Disneyland.
You’ll enter via the iconic Trading Post and will even get to see Oaken himself! You’ll then load into a sleigh that resembles Kristoff’s, and then you’ll be off on your journey over the mountain and through the forest with the help of Olaf and Sven.
Frozen Ever After
Yep, this is Hong Kong Disneyland’s version of the iconic Frozen boat ride that you can find in EPCOT. You’ll go on a journey through the North Mountain to see Elsa’s Ice Palace, Troll Valley, and MORE.
Disney says that the characters in this ride re the most technologically advanced Audio-Animatronics EVER!
Okay, but what can I EAT?
Don’t worry, friend! There are a few options if you’re hoping to grub.
Golden Crocus Inn
Golden Crocus Inn is where you can enjoy a hearty, quick service meal while surrounded by nautical theming. The menu will feature offerings inspired by Norwegian comfort foods.
That’s right, you’ll be able to dine on eats from seafood to pasta.
Northern Delights
Northern Delights is going to act as your hub for SWEETS. You’ll be able to head inside and shop in this “upscale neighborhood sweets shop” that features desserts, packaged gift confectionery, and cooking goods.
If you need me, you know where I’ll be.
Forest Fare
Forest Fare is the spot for a quick bite to eat! Seriously, it’s just a food cart.
A small, but mighty joint! You can grab churros, cookies, shaved ice, and more!
Where can I meet Anna and Elsa?
It wouldn’t be World of Frozen without the stars of the show!
Playhouse in the Woods
This playhouse is meant to serve as Elsa’s secret childhood hideaway! This is a first-of-its-kind theatrical experience found in Arendelle Forest where you can meet Anna, Elsa, AND Olaf!
This show will feature singing, projection mapped content, special effects, and sensory elements. You’ll also be able to meet Elsa and Anna throughout the land as well, and even Oaken and Kristoff!
Where can I shop?
You can’t visit the all-new land without some souvenirs to prove it!
Tick Tock Toys & Collectibles
This is a “centuries-old shop” that has Olaf-themed headbands to Nordic-inspiired sweaters.
You’ll also be able to visit the “Royal Post of Arendelle” right next to the shop to send some magical mail home to friends and family.
Traveling Traders
This pop-up shop is where you can grab small gifts like keychains, shoulder plushes, headbands, and more!
Well, there you have it! We are so excited about this new land, and we hope to someday visit. We’ll be sure to keep y’all up-to-date with more news that comes out, so make sure to follow along for more!
