If we asked you what our favorite bar in EPCOT was, you’d probably know the answer because it’s a LOT of folks’ favorite bar (like, even celebrities love it, too). That bar is La Cava del Tequila, and we keep coming back again and again to sip on some old favorites and try some new drinks.
New drink in Mexico!
So when we learned about a new margarita that had just dropped at La Cava, we got in line ASAP to order it. But…how does this new margarita fare in a menu that’s already FULL of standout margaritas? Well, let’s discuss!
The new margarita is the Cafe Foster Margarita for $22.37, made with Ilegal reposado mezcal, coffee, chocolate cream liquor, cold foam, and spiced chocolate salt. Now, you might think, “Oh, hey, chocolate margarita? I’m in!” But here’s the thing…it’s not a super chocolatey drink, even with those chocolate ingredients. Now, the first sip is strong, but it gets smoother with each sip. But it tastes more like it has hints of coffee in it than chocolate, and we don’t mind that one bit.

The foam on top is both salty and sweet, but it’s more like a vanilla that then gets super salty (like it sneaks up on you). We think the cold film is a unique idea for a margarita because it is something we associate more with coffee. We do wish the overall drink was a little sweeter and chocolatey, though. However, if you like coffee, you may actually like this drink because that’s what it reminds us of. To us, it tasted like a sweet coffee with strong tequila in it.
