If you’re heading to EPCOT and only planning to snack and stroll around World Showcase, we need to talk.
We love a good festival booth and a scenic lap around the lagoon as much as anyone, but there are a few experiences in World Showcase that deserve way more hype than they get. Some are totally free, some cost a little extra, and all of them are the kind of things that can turn a good park day into a core memory. If you’re skipping these, you’re doing EPCOT wrong.
Let’s start with something that is criminally underrated.
Not Stopping at KidCOT
I know what you’re thinking. Isn’t KidCOT just for little kids? Technically, yes, but also no. The KidCOT Fun Stops are tucked inside every pavilion around World Showcase, and they’re one of the easiest ways to actually interact with each country instead of just walking through it.
At each stop, Cast Members from that country guide kids through a simple craft and chat about where they’re from. It’s low key, it’s free, and it gives kids something to look forward to in every pavilion. Even better, it forces you to slow down and actually go inside the shops and galleries you might normally breeze past.
If you’re traveling with kids, this is a must. It breaks up the walking, gives everyone a mission, and turns World Showcase into a scavenger hunt of sorts. And if you’re not traveling with kids, at least appreciate the vibe. There’s something really special about seeing Cast Members share pieces of their culture in such a personal way.
Skipping Voices of Liberty
Over at The American Adventure in the America pavilion, the Voices of Liberty perform multiple times throughout the day, and every single time we stop, we’re reminded why this is one of our favorite live performances in all of Disney World.
This a cappella group performs inside the rotunda, and the acoustics are unreal. You’ll hear patriotic classics, traditional folk songs, and harmonies that will genuinely give you chills. It’s the kind of performance that makes you pause mid snack and go, wait, why is this free?
It’s also a great way to get off your feet for a few minutes without committing to a full attraction. You can stand, sit on the floor, lean against a column, whatever works. The show is short, sweet, and powerful. If you’ve never taken the time to stop and listen, add it to your list immediately.
Not Booking the Behind the Seeds Tour
If you love Living with the Land, then the Behind the Seeds tour in The Land pavilion is about to be your new obsession.
This guided walking tour takes you backstage inside the greenhouses where Disney grows produce used in EPCOT restaurants. You’ll learn about hydroponics, sustainable farming, and all the weird and wonderful fruits and vegetables you never knew existed. Yes, you will feel like you’re on a field trip. Yes, it’s still awesome.
It’s relatively affordable compared to other tours on property, and it gives you a whole new appreciation for what you’re floating past on the boat ride. The next time you ride Living with the Land, you’ll be pointing out plants like you work there.
Not Rope Dropping France for Breakfast
Finally, let’s talk strategy. If you’re entering through the International Gateway, or even if you’re coming in from the front and willing to hustle a bit, going straight to the France pavilion first thing in the morning is elite behavior.
Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie is serving up fresh pastries, baguette sandwiches, and coffee before most people have even decided where to start. Grab a table before the crowds build, order a croissant or pain au chocolat, and just sit. Watch the pavilion wake up. Listen to the music. Soak it in.
There is something about having a quiet breakfast in France while World Showcase is still calm that feels very main character energy in the best way. It sets the tone for the entire day.
World Showcase is so much more than a loop of food booths and pretty buildings. If you carve out time for these experiences, you’ll walk away with more than just snack photos. You’ll leave with stories. And honestly, that’s what EPCOT does best.
