A little birdie told me that there’s something new at The Citrus Blossom this year…

Citrus Blossom
Okay, make that a LITTLE ORANGE BIRD. You see, this beloved bird from the Sunshine Tree Terrace in Magic Kingdom has made a home for himself at the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, too. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — The Citrus Blossom — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
There’s a mix of returning and NEW items at The Citrus Blossom! When it comes to food, both the Orange Sesame Tempura Shrimp, Key Lime Wine Slush, Orange-Lemon Smoothie, the Lumpia, and the Lemon Tart are back this year.

The Citrus Blossom Menu
But there are some new features on the menu, too — and TWO of them are plant-based! The new items include Cinnamon Beignets and a slew of new brews: ACE Cider Orange Groves Hard Cider, Central 28 Beer Company Grapefruit Pale Ale, and BrewDog Brewing Company Five Limes Cerveza. You can also grab all three with the Beer Flight.

Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Orange Sesame Tempura Shrimp, which is glazed with an orange-chili sauce. It costs $7.79. This item made our Best of the Fest a few years in a row, so we were especially excited to try it again!

Orange-Sesame Tempura Shrimp
Not a big surprise here, but the shrimp is still a favorite. The dish has a great crunchy texture and pairs well with the orange-chili sauce. It is not spicy at all, so if you’re worried about heat, you don’t have to be with this!

We snagged the Lumpia with plant-based pork. It’s also served with green papaya, and yuzu sweet-and-sour, and it costs $6.19. This item is part of the Garden Graze, the plant-based food stroll through the Flower and Garden Festival. Our reporter, who is vegan, loved this dish. This is a plant-based pork, and we really liked it. It was good and crunchy, and we even forgot it was plant-based while we were eating the lumpia. The yuzu sweet and sour was really flavorful, but you can tell that there are chilis in there. There’s a bit of a kick, but nothing too crazy.

Now, let’s dig into something sweet! The NEW Cinnamon Beignets tossed in lemon sugar, lemon glaze, and honey mead-blueberry compote, and it costs $5.29. These were doughy and thick in the middle, which is different from the typical Disney beignets. They are easy to share, which we loved. They are strong on the lemon flavor due to the glaze, but the honey mead-blueberry compote balances it very nicely. We were impressed with the compote having full blueberries in it. We think adults and kids both will find this one a hit!

Finally, we dug into the Lemon Tart. It comes with lemon curd, blood orange fluid gel, aquafaba meringues, and raspberry powder. It costs $4.99. This item is part of the Garden Graze, the plant-based food stroll through the Flower and Garden Festival. This is a great dessert option for plant-based eaters. It’s light and delicious.

Lemon Tart
Onto the drinks!
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we got the Orange-Lemon Smoothie. This drink is nonalcoholic and comes in an Orange Bird sipper cup for $15.49. In the past, we thought that this smoothie was literally like drinking an orange sherbet, and we loved it so much that it made our Best of the Fest list!

A returning cocktail is the Key Lime Wine Slush for $13.00. “Key Lime,” you say? And “Wine” along with that? Yep, we’re in. We really loved this at first, the last time we had it. It was like drinking key lime pie in liquid form, and we were in love. However, the more we drank it, the more we found that it was overly sweet and acidic. We couldn’t finish it. If you LIKE super sweet drinks, though, this could be a great option for you. How does it taste this year?

Key Lime Wine Slushy
We still loved it. It’s very tart, as you would want from the Key Lime flavor. It’s very bright and really packs that sour punch.

Finally, the new beers are on the menu. ACE Cider Orange Groves Hard Cider, Central 28 Beer Company Grapefruit Pale Ale, and BrewDog Brewing Company Five Limes Cerveza. You get individual pours for $6.00/6oz or $9.75/12oz, or grab all three with the Beer Flight for $12.75. We grabbed the cider flight and enjoyed it.

For the BrewDog Brewing Company Five Limes Cerveza, the lime flavor was light and tasted like your typically cerveza.

The Central 28 Beer Company Grapefruit Pale Ale had strong grapefruit flavors. It reminded us a lot of the Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen in Germany’s pavilion, so if you enjoy that beer, you’ll like this one.

The ACE Cider Orange Groves Hard Cider was our favorite, and the orange flavors really came through nicely here. It was light and refreshing.
