There are many Disney essentials out there that will genuinely make your trip easier. We’ve done trips without them and deeply regretted being without them, which is why we chat with you all the time about why these items can help make your lives easier…however, there ARE items out there that do the opposite.
It’s rare that we experience trying something in Disney World that we dislike SO much we actually advise no one use them, but this is one of those situations. We spent $16 to try out this “essential” in Disney World, but here’s what we learned — we’ll NEVER use them again, and we’re here to help you avoid the same fate.
Disposable Sheets? No, Thank You (And That’s Us Being Polite)
When some people travel, they’re concerned about the cleanliness of their hotel, or sleeping on sheets that other people have before (even though all sheets are, of course, supposed to be washed in between guests). Whether it’s due to a concern they always have about keeping things clean, they suffer from intense allergies, or they have a medical condition that requires them to be extra aware of their surroundings, sometimes the idea of Disposable Bed Sheets can make travel life easier. THIS set, though? Yeah, we don’t recommend using these for ANY reason.
This set comes with two pillow sham covers, a sheet cover, a quilt/comforter cover, two disposable face cloths, and two disposable bath towels, and while that’s a lot for the small price of $16, these are SO. UNCOMFORTABLE. These are marketed as being reusable, but we think that’s highly questionable. In fact, we feel cleaner washing regular sheets between people/trips than we do with these.
The only thing we could stand to use was the face cloths, but they were strangely long and felt like just wetting a paper towel and hoping for the best. While the towels did succeed in getting water off of you, they weren’t soft or comfortable in the slightest.
The sheets and pillow covers were so uncomfortable, making us feel like we were lying on paper at the doctor’s office, and they smelled similar, as well — you won’t really feel like you’re on vacation, more like you’re doing a sleep study test in an uncomfortable bed. We’d go as far as saying this made our trip HARDER, not easier in the slightest, and if you’re concerned about germs on your trip for whatever reason, we’d actually just recommend getting to the hotel early and taking all the sheets off to wash them yourself at the hotel’s laundry service instead. Either that, or you can contact Disney with your concern, and they’ll do all they can to assure you that things will be sterile and clean.
We’ll continue to keep you updated on all the latest Disney news, including the items we ACTUALLY find to be very helpful on our trips, so stay tuned to DFB!
