There’s one feature in the Disney World app that almost nobody uses enough, and we’re officially calling you out about it.
We spend a lot of time talking about mobile ordering, wait times, and hotel check-in, but there’s a hidden gem in the My Disney Experience app that deserves way more love. It’s quick, it’s meaningful, and it can genuinely make someone’s day. If you’re heading to Disney World soon, you absolutely need to start using the Cast Compliment feature. (Yes, we’re serious.)
If you’ve ever had a Cast Member completely turn your day around, you know exactly why this matters. Maybe they found your kid the perfect seat for the parade. Maybe they helped you track down a lost item. Maybe they just gave you that over-the-top Disney kindness when you needed it most. Those magical moments don’t happen by accident.
That’s where the Cast Compliment feature comes in.
Inside the My Disney Experience app, you can submit a mobile Cast Compliment directly from your phone. It takes maybe two minutes, and you don’t have to hunt down Guest Relations or fill out a paper form. You just open the app, tap the rightmost bottom icon, scroll all the way down, and look for the Cast Compliment option. From there, you can share the reason for your compliment, the location, enter the Cast Member’s name, their hometown, and the date of the interaction. It’s simple. It’s fast. And it actually matters.
These compliments don’t just disappear into the void. They get shared with leadership and can become part of that Cast Member’s record. Recognition like this can impact their career growth, internal awards, and overall morale. You’re not just saying thanks. You’re helping someone’s hard work get noticed.
And if you need a reminder to do it, World Compliment Day is March 1st. That makes it the perfect excuse to go out of your way to recognize someone who made your vacation better. We love a holiday that requires zero decorations and only good vibes.
We know it’s easy to get wrapped up in your Lightning Lane return times, dining reservations, and snack goals. Disney days are busy. But taking a couple of minutes to pause and acknowledge a Cast Member is one of the most powerful things you can do on your trip.
Think about it. Cast Members are out there in the Florida heat, during the holiday rush, and on those random days when the parks are packed for no apparent reason. They’re answering the same questions over and over, handling complicated situations, and still managing to smile through it all. The least we can do is make sure the magic flows both ways.
Another thing we love about the mobile Cast Compliment feature is that you don’t have to wait until you’re home and exhausted to remember someone’s name. You can submit it right there while the moment is fresh. If you spot their nametag, jot it down in your Notes app, or just send the compliment on the spot.
On your next trip, make it a goal to send at least one Cast Compliment. Two if you’re feeling ambitious. You’ll walk away knowing you helped sprinkle a little magic back onto the people who spend all day creating it for you.
As always, we’re here to help you make the most of your Disney World vacation, so keep following along with DisneyFoodBlog for more tips you didn’t know you needed.
