We’ve only got TWO more days in Disney World before something changes FOREVER, and many guests are still having mixed feelings about it.
Construction and changes are happening all over Disney World, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is no exception. In fact, tomorrow is your LAST day to experience this popular attraction before it closes to undergo a massive retheme.
Tomorrow, March 1st, is the final day to ride the current version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith before the ride closes on March 2nd to make way for the new Muppets retheme. Part of the retheme happened a little earlier than expected, back in December 2025. We walked into the ride’s pre-show room (which will be heavily rethemed), only to find that it had been CLOSED months ahead of the ride’s official refurbishment start date.
The remainder of the ride will close on March 2nd to begin the retheme, and while walls are likely to go up outside the attraction at some point soon, you’ll still be able to make your way past the ride to get to Villains: Unfairly Ever After. It may get a little crowded over here, or we may deal with a bottleneck for some time, but we’re thrilled this show will still be open during the construction.
Once Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster reopens (hopefully this summer, if the current timeline remains correct), it’ll become Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. While the ride style and ride track of the attraction will remain the same, Disney has said that the new ride will be “fueled by the tasty tunes of the Electric Mayhem and the high-speed hijinks of The Muppets.” The Muppets have teamed up with “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival,” but they’re running late to their set.
You’ll still start the attraction with a VIP tour of G-Force Records, now owned by Scooter’s uncle, J.P. Grosse. In the pre-show room, we’ll see Scooter and his penguin audio engineers try to get the Electric Mayhem out of the studio and on the road so they won’t be late to their show. Guests will be able to see the surroundings of Tinseltown, all with a Muppets twist, and we’ll all still be boarding those limos (rethemed to look like the Electric Mayhem’s iconic bus) to take a wild ride through the streets to get to the show.
Whether you’re looking forward to this retheme or not, it doesn’t change the fact that the OG version of this ride will be GONE after tomorrow. If you’re heading into the parks, be ready for LONG lines, so pack your patience, and stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news!
