I’ll be honest with you — I love the open ocean and sailing, but when it comes to how I like to vacation with Disney? I’m choosing the theme parks all day, every day. With that said, one upcoming offering has me rethinking EVERYTHING.
I’m a theme park guy. I like rides, immersive lands, and all the explorable space each park has to offer. When sitting down to decide if I’d rather do a lengthy Disney World trip versus a Disney Cruise, the decision was typically a no-brainer. But then Disney went ahead and dropped details about exciting Marvel experiences coming to the brand-new Disney Adventure cruise ship, and suddenly…I get it. The Disney Adventure isn’t just a cruise. It’s offering something totally unique. Something that’s basically a floating Marvel land. Now you’re speaking my language. Let’s talk about the one thing that completely changed my mind.
Set to make its maiden voyage out of Singapore on March 10th, 2026, the Disney Adventure will be the first Disney Cruise Line ship to sail from Singapore’s Marina Bay Cruise Centre and throughout Southeast Asia. The ship won’t stop at ports of call, so it’ll need a ton of entertainment on board — which is where its seven themed areas come into play.
Akin to lands at a theme park, the themed areas will be inspired by The Jungle Book, Moana, The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Finding Nemo, Luca, Tangled, Cinderella, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Princess and the Frog, Toy Story, and — of course — the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Marvel Landing will be located on one of the outside decks of the ship, and will feature fan-favorite Marvel heroes and different attractions that we’ve never seen at sea. There are ACTUAL rides on this ship!
The “land” will have THREE rides, and I’m excited for each one! Groot Galaxy Spin is a family-friendly spinning ride that hoists riders in the air while energized by the music from the Guardians of the Galaxy films! Disney Imagineers recently gave us a peek at the new ride, and it looks like so much fun!
Pym Quantum Racers is a speedy go-kart attraction inspired by Ant-Man and The Wasp and their use of Pym Particles.
And Ironcycle Test Run — well — this is the big one. Ironcycle Test Run will be the first-ever roller coaster aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship and the longest coaster at sea at 820 feet in length! It’ll suspend up to 30 feet above the upper deck of the ship as riders fly by on Tony Stark’s Ironcycle prototype.
A Marvel-themed roller coaster at sea — and the largest coaster at that — is a MUST-TRY experience. Flying over a massive cruise ship and the ocean? That’s the kind of over-the-top Disney ambition that made theme park fans fall in love with Disney in the first place.
What really makes the Disney Adventure cruise ship stand out is how the Marvel experiences fit into a larger vision. Not only do I get to embrace Marvel at sea, but I can also opt for Pixar and other Disney-themed offerings. No longer is cruising about the destination. The Disney Adventure is the destination.
