Walt Disney World is well known for its litany of dining options, with restaurant’s across the property’s parks and hotel offering options for every pallet and budget… including those looking for a comfort food traditional diner-style meal without breaking the bank.
Located at the Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel, The Fountain captures the vibes of a classic American diner, complete with vinyl stools, glittering tables, a long countertop, and even a neon sign.
The Fountain offers various classic seating configurations in the restaurant, including tables, the aforementioned countertop, and classic booths.
The restaurant’s menu features a full rundown of classic diner favorites with appetizers including Pretzel & Cheese Dip and Queso Tots,
The Fountain even offers the Diner classic Disco Fries. This iconic dish – a favorite of diner dwellers, especially in the Northeast (including the diner capital of the U.S., New Jersey) is a $12.00 helping of fries smothered in a “classic combination of diner style gravy and homemade cheese sauce.
The menu also offers an array of salads, and entree options including the classic Reuben Sandwich, a foot log hot dog, a fried chicken sandwich, a flounder sandwich, a burnt ends sanwhich, and grilled cheese served with tomato soup.
However, the diner’s star attraction is the Fountain Smash Burger. This $21 delight is a filling meal in and of itself, featuring a certified Angus Beef patty (or a meat-free Beyond Burger) covered in griddled onions, crispy lettuce, tomatoes, and American Cheese, all served on a locally baked bun.
Last time we had the burger, we loved it! The cheese was amazingly melted, the bun was nice and soft, the patty tasted hand-pressed and fresh, and the veggies were delicious.
Like any good diner, The Fountain offers a full menu of delicious sweets to finish off your meal, including a wide range of milkshakes all under $20. These aren’t just chocolate/vanilla/strawberry either.
There’s the Blueberry Cheesecake (featuring cheesecake ice cream, blueberry jam, graham cracker crumble, whipped topping, fresh blueberries, and a cheesecake wedge), The King (peanut butter ice cream, toasted marshmallow fluff, chocolate whipped topping, banana, and a Reese’s Cup), Key Lime Pie (key lime ice cream, lime curd, graham cracker crumble, a slice of key lime pie, whipped topping, and candied lime), and our personal favorite, Banana Pudding (banana ice cream, vanilla pudding, whipped topping, Nilla Wafers, and a fresh banana).
Now, all that being said, if you find yourself tempted by The Fountain, there are a few things to know. The restaurant does not participate in any of the Disney Dining Plan options, and does not accept MagicBands, Disney Gift Cards, or any other Disney stored value cards for payment. Also, keep in mind that there’s a fee to park at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel.
But if you are staying at these hotels, this is seriously the perfect spot to grab a quick and delicious bite to eat that won’t break the bank!!

We enjoyed a casual dinner a few years ago at The Fountain while staying at the Swan. The menu has changed a bit, but they still have food to appeal to most tastes with decent portions and prices. Their ice cream creations make it a good alternative to Beaches and Cream, with a burger or grilled cheese with tomato soup great options for a filling meal. Check out the baked goods case too. As mentioned, take cash or a credit card since they are not Disney-owned. Easy to get to by walking path or boat from Epcot or the Studios.
I love the Fountain. I stay at the Swan/Dolphin often and it is a great place to grab dinner if you have been grazing in the parks all day. Also if you are not feeling well, they usually have a soup on the menu. The staff is friendly and efficient. Also it is a nice place to eat if you are alone, you can sit out and people watch or be tucked into a corner. Really worth a try!
