A lot of really exciting things are happening in Disney World right now. Magic Kingdom is getting a new land AND a Frontierland expansion. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a reimagined area and a new land. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is getting a new land, and Disney has made a lot of progress on bringing that new land, Pueblo Esperanza, to life.
The new land takes inspiration from the Tropical Americas and will feature the first ever Encanto ride, as well as a brand new Indiana Jones ride, among other things. There will also be a playground. Well, thanks to a permit Disney recently filed, we now know the layout of Pueblo Esperanza, as well as some new details about the new playground.
Disney just filed new wastewater permit plans with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection that show the general layout of where the playground will be located, as well as new details about it. The playground will sit on what was once the Cretaceous Trail, which is the path between Dinosaur and what was once Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures.
The documents filed by Disney show that the playground could be similar to the former Boneyard playground (which has been demolished to make way for a carousel) in DinoLand, U.S.A. The documents show that it will have several slides, a climbing area, Tropical Americas-themed play spaces, and more.
Dinoland, U.S.A. has been closing in phases during the construction of Pueblo Esperanza, with Dinosaur and the rest of the land permanently closing on February 2nd. Disney will then convert the Dinosaur ride into the brand new Indiana Jones ride (which will differ from the one in Disneyland), as well as continuing construction on the Encanto ride and adding new shopping and dining spots.
Disney has not yet confirmed an opening timeline for Pueblo Esperanza, but we’ll be anxiously awaiting more news to share with you, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

Expansions are great! However, I don’t like having walls up in EVERY PARK at the same time! Complete a project before starting new ones.
It is too bad what Disney is doing to the Animal Kingdom Park. It was a great experience when Kilimanjaro Safari attraction was in full bloom. The story telling of the poaching, baby elephant rescue and the animals were like noting before it and nothing since. Unfortunately, Disney has chooses to cut back on the Safari, the story and baby elephant rescue is gone, a bugs life is gone, soon to be Rafiki Station. It is just not the learning experience it once was in favor of an ethnic based fun park. Could be my last trip there coming soon.
I really hope that Indiana jones gets the attraction it deserves, not a carbon copy of DLC , to be honest Indiana jones should be in Mk Adventure land . I simply can’t understand the boards thinking . I would say that Encanto isn’t a great I.P . Slowly taking away mr Eisners ideas is not a clever way forward. I long for those days to return . It’s all very muddled , with not enough spark ! Cars in Mk is down right ridiculous !!
