We’ve been exploring Epic Universe at Universal Orlando bit by bit ever since it opened last year, but there’s still so much to explore!

Mead Hall

We were recently strolling through How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk and noticed a new dessert on the menu over at Mead Hall. And, since we’re Disney FOOD Blog, after all, you know we had to try it! Come with us to check out the new Gronckle’s Bread Pudding.

We stopped by Mead Hall to grab Gronckle’s Bread Pudding for $7.99. It’s a malted cinnamon bread pudding with a Yak Nog anglaise, chocolate Pop Rocks, and vanilla ice cream. This is such a fun dessert and was especially good coming from a quick service restaurant!

It’s super moist and has great flavor — the pudding is nice and crispy on top, but quite soft on the inside and nice and warm, too. There’s a HUGE scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, which we really loved because it made this dessert more shareable.

The Yak Nog glaze is sweet with notes of cinnamon and vanilla, and it does make the overall dessert quite sweet, considering there was basically a pool of it — but hey, it’s dessert.

The chocolate Pop Rocks were a fun addition, and they do fizzle in your mouth like you’d expect. They weren’t extremely chocolatey, but they did add a nice crunch that added a nice textural element to the dessert. The little green flag isn’t edible — it’s made of plastic, so keep that in mind!

We won’t be forgetting this anytime soon
