When it comes to Walt Disney World early risers — those who eschew sleeping in for rope dropping parks to begin experiencing the magic as early as possible– there are certain habits that they stick with to make their early mornings go as smoothly as possible.
There are some relatively obvious ways to ensure you’re ready to get out to the parks ASAP in the morning, like packing your park bag and having your outfit ready and laid out the night before. However, some tips are a bit more under the radar.
In-Room Breakfast
So, if your mission is to rope drop a Disney park (with Disney hotel guest Early Entry, of course), we’d probably recommend not stopping at your hotel’s food court for breakfast. However, that’s not to say skip the first meal of the day.
There are two breakfast options to speed up the process. First, you can have items in your room — like cereal, pastries, muffins, etc. — that you brought from home or picked up the night before that you can eat along with the coffee provided in each hotel room.
We like to grab something in the parks from somewhere like Le Halles or Gaston’s, so we have something nice and exciting to eat in the parks the next morning. I mean, who doesn’t love a morning croissant, baguette, or beignet?
Now, we can totally understand if you’re not willing to give up a fresh breakfast for something from the night before. If that’s not up your alley, there is another way:
Mobile Order
If you want something in the park, you can set up a mobile order while rope dropping to pick quickly and lose as little park time as possible.
We can say from experience that mobile ordering this way will make grabbing food in the park much smoother, and at the same time can fulfill that desire for a fresh breakfast, while not encroaching on precious early morning park time!
Multi Task
While waiting to enter the park, take the time to apply sunscreen, stretch, double-check Lightning Lanes and dining reservations, and anything else you can do to knock off the list before entering the park. Getting all of these must-do tasks out of the way means fewer stops once you’re inside, and more time to get to whatever ride you want to rope drop.
Rope Dropping Animal Kingdom
Remember to check park hours as well. Case in point, Animal Kingdom opens at 8:00 AM most days, with Early Entry for hotel guests at 7:30 AM. So, if your goal is to rope drop and get to Flight of Passage as early as possible, be sure to keep that in mind.
We will say this, though: Seeing the animals on Kilimanjaro Safaris in the early morning hours is one of the most unique experiences at Walt Disney World, and one that’s definitely worth walking up early for.
If you’re planning to be a Disney morning person on your next trip, be sure to keep these habits in mind to make the best of your early wake-up. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World tips!
