McDonald's Announces NEW Throwback Happy Meal Toys Coming Soon

Alright, McDonald’s fans, if you’re a big fan of Happy Meals and love to collect the different toys that come out, this news is for you!

We keep a close eye out for all the latest and greatest Happy Meal toys so you can plan ahead, especially if you’re a collector. The newest Happy Meal toys that are releasing soon, though? Depending on how long you’ve been a Happy Meal fan, you may recognize the name — Changeables are coming BACK!

McDonald’s recently announced on their website that Changeables, a type of toy first seen in 1987, will soon be returning to Happy Meals! At this time, there’s no timeline that’s been announced, only that they’re coming soon, so we’ll keep our eyes and ears open for more news.

There were three series of Changeables Happy Meal toys released between 1987 and 1990, all of them loosely resembling Hasbro’s Transformers toys. What’s so cool about these, you ask? Well, they look like normal McDonald’s items, but then they can be transformed into a robot, dinosaurs, and more. We did see them briefly return to Happy Meals in 2022, and now they’re coming back!

Some of the Changeables from Series 1-3 (1987-1990) are worth a pretty penny to this day, so if you’re ever wandering around a garage sale, estate sale, or thrifting and see them, you may want to pick them up (even if it’s just to keep them on your shelf). In 2022’s collection, we saw Changeables that looked like a Big Mac, fries, an ice cream cone, chicken nuggets, and more! We’re looking forward to seeing what ones will be released for this new collection.
