Mayday Falls, the highest and longest waterslide at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, has been unexpectedly temporarily closed. Disney has not yet stated what the temporary closure is for.

We’re assuming that the temporary closure is for a refurbishment of the ride or routine maintenance, but that hasn’t been confirmed by Disney as of right now. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon as a whole is currently closed for the weather, and it will be closing for a lengthy refurbishment on February 14th, 2026.

Right now, the Disney World calendar shows reopening hours for Mayday Falls on January 17th; however, Disney’s website indicates that there is “no confirmed reopening date.”
As Typhoon Lagoon fades out, Blizzard Beach will be reopening! Get ready to enjoy some water fun at the Frozen-themed water park very soon, as it reopens on February 15th, 2026. This will be just in time for the warm spring season — we need the weather to warm up a little anyway (yes, it gets somewhat cold here!).
