Whether you’re a huge Disney fan or not, chances are you’ve heard of Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar.
This Disneyland Hotel staple is a popular spot for travelers and Tiki-fanatics alike. It is inspired by the world-famous Jungle Cruise and will whisk you into another world. It is full of trinkets from Trader Sam’s travels, and you never know what might happen while you are there! But, if you’re planning a visit soon, beware of this refurbishment closure.
Cast Members confirmed that Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar will start an interior refurbishment soon, though they did not initially share an official date with us. During the renovations, indoor seating will be unavailable, but outdoor seating will remain open for guests.
UPDATE: After it was originally reported that indoor dining would close on February 17th, we have received confirmation that indoor dining at Trader Sam’s will close on March 2nd, 2026. While the indoor seating area is closed for refurbishment, guests will still be able to dine outdoors at Trader Sam’s. The interior dining is expected to reopen in time for Trader Sam’s 15th anniversary in the spring of 2026. Trader Sam’s opened back on May 25th, 2011.

This bar is well-known for its variety of drinks that have a variety of consequences. And no, we aren’t just talking about the consequences of drinking alcohol. Depending on the drink you order, you might get an animated story, or the drink may trigger a special effect. We definitely recommend people watching during your visit, as you will see all sorts of shenanigans happening — though during the renovations, these elements will be unavailable.
Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar offers appetizers and salads, along with entrees, desserts, and of course, a ton of fun Tiki-inspired drinks — both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. While we’re thrilled that the whole bar isn’t shutting down for the renovations, you might want to consider planning your visit for another time if you want the full, interactive experience.
