Shanghai Disney turns 10 years old this June! Our baby’s all grown up! Who would’ve thought that the park that created the world’s largest Disney castle, opened our favorite thrill rides, Tron Lightcycle Power Run, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure, would later make waves with its 100 millionth guest and expand with a new Zootopia-land less than ten years later?
Shanghai Disney’s 2026 Fireworks
To celebrate its decade anniversary, Shanghai Disney Resort had gorgeous New Year’s Fireworks to kick off the year-long celebration, along with adorable New Year’s Outfits for Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto. But there was a huge announcement to follow!
To our surprise, they announced their NEW birthday logo right on the castle!

The logo features a gold “10” combined with a plus sign and wishing stars adorning the iconic Enchanted Storybook Castle. The wishing stars symbolize the millions of dreams granted to guests of Shanghai Disney over the years. The plus sign represents both the Chinese character for “10” and signals there’s more to come for its birthday celebration.

Shanghai Disney is expanding even more in the next few months. Plans feature a Spider-Man themed land featuring a high-speed, immersive coaster with both forward and backward launches. There are two new hotels in the works – the closest being an Art Nouveau theme infused with Disney magic – plus a Disney shopping destination similar to World of Disney right outside the park’s main entrance.

In addition, new scenes, characters, and music inspired by Zootopia 2 are already appearing in Zootopia-land. And an expansion of Soaring Over the Horizon has us craving another ride!
