Packing your park bag may seem easy, but the truth? It’s easier said than done, because there’s just SO much to think about!
We say that from experience, because we’re in the parks every day. The number of times have you forgotten something essential and regretted it the whole day? Well, if we’re being honest, it happens at least once a week (or, if you’re like me and travel to the parks once a month, it happens at least twice — once when I arrive in Orlando and realize what I’ve forgotten at home, and then at least once when I’m headed into the parks and realize I forgot something at my accommodation). To help you avoid the same issue, we’ve created this little checklist for you — these are the 10 things you 100% need to have in your park bag!
Rainy Day? No Problem!
There’s nothing that will ruin a Disney World day faster than soggy clothes (again, we’ve been there too many times). Either that, or you hide indoors or under an awning while it rains, and feel like you’re wasting valuable Disney time. Avoid it all and grab yourself a Frogg Toggs Poncho! Not only does it have a convenient bag that it goes right back into after use, but it’s made of such great material that we’ve literally wiped water droplets off of it easily. Buy it once, and you can use it for years to come.
Sometimes, A Simple Breeze is All It Takes
Sometimes we see mini fans and go “yeah, okay, that’s tiny, it won’t do anything.” In full honesty, that’s what we first thought about the JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan, because…well, just look at it! It folds up so small to easily go in your pocket, and it’s only got two blades, so how powerful can it really be? The answer is REALLY powerful, as it turns out, and now it’s our go-to fan for hot days (when you don’t need something extra powerful, that is). Not only does it have three different speeds that all work well, but it’s also a flashlight and a portable charger.
Keep The Sun Off Of You With One Item
Here’s the thing — sunscreen will keep your skin from burning, but will it actually keep you cool? No, not at all. If you’re not someone who’s big on handheld fans, or you overheat from the sun shining down on you, the BAODINI Travel Essentials Mini Umbrella is totally worth it. It can act as a normal umbrella for rain, sure, but it’s also a UV umbrella, so it’ll take the sun’s UV rays and bounce them right back towards the sky. It doesn’t seem like it, but I’ve experienced firsthand how this can cool the area around you by 5-10 degrees instantly.
Charge Your Phone AND Always Have A Plan B
There are lots of portable chargers out there on the market, and we’ve tried a LOT of them. While regular FuelRods get the job done, they’re not our favorites, despite the helpful feature of being able to swap them out in the parks when needed. The FuelRod MAX10, on the other hand? You still get the added bonus of trading them out in the parks if needed for no additional charge, but the charge on this is AMAZING. Even on our busiest reporting days, it hasn’t let us down, and even though it’s more expensive, we’d choose it over the regular FuelRod any day.
Keep Your Loungefly Organized!
We love Loungefly backpacks as much as the next person, but sometimes they don’t make the best park bags since items get lost inside them so easily. The HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer can totally fix that, though, because it creates new pockets for you to keep everything in. It takes up little to no space in the bag itself and makes your life in the parks MUCH easier.
Never Deal With Paper Straws Again
The paper straws around Disney World are notoriously awful due to their design (not their intention, we’re all for helping the environment), so never have one fall apart in your mouth again (or wander around searching for one of Joffrey’s sugarcane straws that are amazing) and grab yourself the Sunseeke Silicone Straws instead! These come with great carrying cases that make bringing them around the parks a breeze, and even come with cleaners to keep in the hotel room and use between each day.
Never Struggle For Silverware Again
Another thing we can’t stand is trying to find silverware around the parks, especially if it’s missing one piece that we need. Whether it’s a fork, a spoon, or a knife, it’s annoying to try to search around to find one. The Reusable Travel Utensils Set is a great way to have your utensils with you wherever you go, and with that traveling case, it’s easy to bring them around the parks.
Hand Sanitizer is 100% A Must
We’re a big fan of having hand sanitizer in your bag in general, but if you want one that’s super cute, the Touchland & Disney Special Edition Hand Sanitizer + Mist Case is a great choice. It’s cute as can be, will keep your hands moisturized, and you can replace it with another Touchland hand sanitizer when it runs out!
Keep Your Shoes Dry
On rainy days, or on water rides, the Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers are 100% going to keep your shoes dry. Walking around in wet socks isn’t ideal or comfortable, so keeping everything dry means no blisters. We thought these wouldn’t work the first time we tried them, and as it turns out? They work like a charm!
In Case of Minor Injury
Now, if you do experience a minor injury in the park, you can always head to First Aid, but sometimes you’re further away than you’d like to be. Grab yourself the KeepGoing Travel First Aid Kit so you’re never without what you need! It’s small, yet has everything you need — it’s saved our butts a few times!
We’ll continue to bring you all the essentials through 2026, so stay tuned to DFB!

Does the Reusable Travel Utensils Set get flagged at bag check since there’s a knife (yes I see that it’s plastic) in the set?
Hi Tina! We have never had an issue.
