A long-time film and television star — and Disney icon — will be leading the famous Bacchus parade in New Orleans on February 15th in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
The Krewe of Bacchus has named Patrick Warburton as Bacchus LVII during Mardi Gras 2026, as the krewe celebrates its 57th parade, according to NOLA.com.
You may recognize Patrick Warburton from his iconic role as David Puddy on Seinfeld, but we love him as the voice of Kronk from Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove and the Chief Flight Attendant from Disney’s Soarin’ at EPCOT at Disney California Adventure. Okay, who am I kidding? David Puddy is definitely my favorite Seinfeld character. His latest role will have him playing Bacchus LVII in the 2026 Bacchus parade.
The Bacchus parade this year is a tribute to America’s 250th anniversary — something that Soarin’ at both EPCOT and Disneyland will be celebrating later this year as well — and will feature floats depicting historical events like The Roaring 20s, World War I, World War II, pioneering women, and National Parks.
One of New Orleans’ most spectacular and popular parades during the Carnival season, the Bacchus parade was established in 1969 and crowns a nationally known celebrity as monarch instead of a member of New Orleans society. Shaquille O’Neal was Bacchus king during the 2025 parade.
The Krewe of Bacchus 2026 parade will take place on Sunday, February 15th, at 5:15 PM on the St. Charles Avenue route.
New Orleans isn’t the only place that celebrates Mardi Gras! Disney World typically drops a ton of new eats and treats throughout the season to celebrate Fat Tuesday and beyond. While we haven’t seen those treats announced just yet, we’ll be keeping an eye out for when they are announced.
