CONFIRMED: A Popular Disneyland Ride Is Closing NEXT WEEK

Disneyland has some big things coming in 2026! Construction is continuing on some major park expansions, and the park is still celebrating its 70th anniversary.

The parks always have something exciting going on, even as construction hit the two theme parks. If you’re headed there anytime in January, you need to remember that a popular ride is closing temporarily!

It’s a new year, and that means new construction! Disneyland is currently working on quite a few refurbishments, and with that come ride closures. If you’re a fan of the spooky and macabre, there’s one closure that will matter more than others. That’s right, the Haunted Mansion will be closing very soon!

Each year, the popular Disney attraction closes around August to transform into the Haunted Mansion Holiday. This is when the ride takes on a Nightmare Before Christmas theme, and it is a VERY popular transformation. Jack Skellington and Sally stick around to delight guests, typically past New Year’s Day.

We’ve had a hunch when the ride would close to turn back to normal, and now it’s been formally confirmed! According to Disney’s website, the last day to ride the Haunted Mansion Holiday is January 11th, 2026. Starting on January 12th, 2026, the ride will be closed for Jack, Sally, and their friends to pack up their bags.

It has also been confirmed that the original version of the attraction will reopen on January 23rd, 2026. The retheme will take just shy of two weeks. That’s not too bad!

This is an annual closure, so we aren’t super surprised by it! This is just one of a few closures we’re seeing this month. The Mark Twain Riverboat is closing for a refurb on January 12th. This is a short closure because you can hit the waters again on January 16th! The timeline indicates this is just routine maintenance.

Over in Disney California Adventure, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind closed on January 5th for its refurbishment. It’s scheduled to reopen on January 23rd. Again, just more regular maintenance!

Finally, Incredicoaster is also closing on January 5th. This is the longest closure of the four we’ve mentioned. The popular ride doesn’t open until February 6th, so there will be a month without the Incredibles. We’re eager to see how this impacts wait times!

These closures are all routine, but if you aren’t prepared for them, they can really throw a wrench in your plans. Preplanning can make your trip as magical as possible, but if that feels overwhelming, you can let someone else do it!
