Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge was evacuated the morning of January 2nd.
Guests at Animal Kingdom Lodge in Disney World got an unexpected surprise yesterday morning when the hotel was evacuated due to a potential safety concern. Here’s what we know about the incident.
Yesterday morning, one of our Instagram followers, Jacob Mitchell (@jacobmitch15), reached out to let us know that Animal Kingdom Lodge was evacuated, sharing videos both inside and outside of the resort.
In one video, the fire alarm can be heard in the background while guests are dining inside the hotel as people begin to exit. The second video shows both guests and Cast Members standing outside the building while the alarms can still be heard.

A Cast Member was overheard saying that the alarms and resulting evacuation were triggered due to a small fire, although it hasn’t been confirmed. We haven’t seen reports of any injuries, and guests were later allowed to reenter the building.
It just goes to show that it’s important to stay alert and follow safety protocols even at the most magical place on earth!

We were evaluated from Boulder Ridge in April 2024 around 5:30am, with those fire alarms going off. We were never told why, but everyone was gathered outside in PJs, towels and blankets in the dark for close to 30 mins before being allowed into the lobby, then finally back into our rooms another 30-40 mins after that.
