Disney’s Avatar: Fire and Ash is heating up the box office right now at movie theaters across the world.

The third installment in the Avatar franchise, the film picks up a year after the events of Avatar: The Way of Water, with Jake and Sally as they work through grief and face new threats to their idyllic life on Pandora. Although the movie is playing in theaters now, we think we know when you’ll be able to watch it on streaming on Disney+.
So we’re going to look at previous movies to figure out when Avatar: Fire and Ash should make it to Disney+. Note that Disney has not yet confirmed a streaming release date, though. The most recent movie release to get a premiere date on Disney+ is TRON: Ares. This movie was released in theaters on October 10th, 2025. It will land on Disney+ on January 7th, a little over three months from its film release date.

The Disney film that arrived before that was Freakier Friday, which arrived in theaters on August 8th, 2025. It made its way to Disney+ on November 12th, 2025. If you do the math, that is once more, a three-month window between the movie’s premiere date in theaters and its premiere on Disney+.

Let’s take a look at Disney’s most recent Marvel movie release, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which arrived in theaters on July 25th, 2025. That movie made its Disney+ premiere on November 5th, 2025. Again, the math gives us a three-month release window.

So if we do the math for the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash on Disney+, we can figure out when it will be on the streaming site. Avatar: Fire and Ash was released in theaters on December 19th, 2025. That means it will probably make its way to Disney+ on or around March 19th, 2026, if Disney keeps to its regular movie release-to-streaming timeline.
