STOP right there if you’re planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation in 2026. Disney’s hotels have some new and updated perks, and MAJOR savings opportunities that you NEED to know about before booking.
Whether you’re planning on splurging on a Deluxe Resort or swinging through a value resort for a few days, every Disney hotel guest has to know about these perks and offers.
Save BIG on 4-Night, 4-Day Packages in 2026
For stays most nights from February 22nd to July 25th, 2026, guests can save up to $250 per night on a 4-night, 4-day (or longer) Walt Disney Travel Company room-and-ticket package.
The $250 a night savings are eligible for stays at Disney Deluxe and Disney Deluxe Villa Resort hotels, $150 a night savings at Moderate Resorts, and $75 a night at Value Tier Resorts.
In addition, savings of $150, $75, and $40 a night are available at Deluxe, Moderate, and Value Tier Resorts from January 4th to February 19th.
The Water Park Perk is Returning… but ONLY in the Summer.
In 2025, Disney introduced a new water park perk for hotel guests, which gave each member of their party admission to one of Walt Disney World’s water parks on their check-in day. While the perk is confirmed to return in 2026, it will only be offered during the summer season.
Hotel Refurbishments
As with the rest of Disney World, there will be a litany of construction around the resort’s hotels in 2026. While some projects will spill into 2027, the following are scheduled to wrap in the ’26 calendar year:
- Disney’s Skyliner: The popular gondola, which directly serves Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach Resort, Riviera Resort, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios with indirect access for Boardwalk, Yacht, and Beach Club guests – will be closed from January 25th through the 31st.
- Pop Century: Disney’s pop culture-themed Value Tier resort has been in the midst of an ongoing major refurbishment of rooms, the lobby, and other common areas for a while now. According to Disney, it’s set to finish sometime in February 2026.
- All-Star Sports: Both the Surfboard Bay Pool and its associated kiddie pool area will be closed from January through April of 2026. According to Disney, the Grand Slam Leisure Pool will still be available, as will the other pools throughout Disney’s All-Star Resorts, including the Calypso Pool, Piano Pool, and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort; and the Fantasia Pool, Duck Pond Pool, and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
- Animal Kingdom Lodge: The resort’s Kidani Village area will finish its current refurbishment in May 2026. Note that when that’s complete, the Jambo House area will enter its own refurbishment from May 2026 through January 2027
The Value Resort Luggage Perk
While this perk has been around for a while, there are still many guests who are unaware of it. In 2025, Southwest Airlines teamed with Disney to bring an element of the dearly departed Magical Express back. Specifically, the airline introduced a service for guests at Disney’s Value Tier Resorts (the All-Star Resorts, Pop Century, and Art of Animation) that delivers bags straight from their flight to their hotel, no bag claim required. All you’ll need to do is the following:
- Fill out the registration form for the Airport Luggage Transfer at Disney service anytime from 30 days to 5 days prior to your departure flight. You will need your Disney Resort confirmation number and your Southwest Airlines confirmation number when you register. You will receive a confirmation email after registering.
- Check in to your flight online as normal and pay any necessary baggage fees.
- Head to the airport and follow the Southwest Airlines procedure to drop off your luggage.
- From there, the bags will go straight from their flight to their hotel room.
- When returning home, you’ll simply:
- Check in for your Southwest Airlines flight online starting 24 hours before departure and pay any necessary baggage fees via the Southwest mobile app or online.
- Drop off your bags at Luggage Assistance in the Resort hotel lobby area by the required drop-off time. Please be aware that you will need to provide a valid government-issued form of photo identification in order to drop off your bags. You can also call Luggage Assistance from your in-room telephone to ask for help with your bags. For a smoother experience, leave all inbound tags on your bags.
- Head to the airport, skip the check-in line, enjoy your flight, and pick up your bags at baggage claim when you arrive at your final destination.

I will say the luggage perk for returning trips does sound really great. One last thing to worry about when you get to the airport unless something goes wrong between the resort and your arrival airport.
The Southwest bag check perk is next to useless now that Southwest charges you for checked bags. I most likely will never fly Southwest again.
I so wish United would get in on bringing the luggage to the resort. It was so wonderful to have this option back in the day.
