Construction is all around Disney World right now — in the parks, at the various hotels, practically everywhere you look!
If you’re planning to stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort soon, there’s a NEW entrance that’s just been unveiled. While it’s beautiful, don’t get us wrong, it is causing a bit of confusion if you’re taking a bus to or from the resort, or driving in with your own car!
The new Polynesian Village Resort entrance starts off with the guard station, which looks just like the old one at the former entrance, which is currently blocked off.
The buses and rideshare are now directed to this entrance and will drop you off right here at the loop in front of the hotel.
There’s still plenty of hedges and fencing and temporary blocks along the sidewalks, but there seems to be a lot more parking availability now than there used to be, which is a big improvement!
In addition to the new entrance, Disney is also taking this opportunity to put down new landscaping from the Grand Ceremonial House all along the walkway out to where the bus stop is for the pick up out in front of the resort. We think it’s great that they’re accomplishing everything at the same time.
Now it’s important to note that the bus stop being at the front is causing a bit of a bottleneck situation right now with hotel buses arriving, then Mears, and even Disney Cruise Line transfers.
Also, Disney buses have you walk across the Port Cochere for pick up, but Mears is closer to the entrance of the hotel — you might think it would be the opposite, but alas, it’s not!
