Custodial Cast Members take care of some of the most daunting tasks at Walt Disney World, including keeping the resort’s theme parks and hotels up to Disney’s standards. In doing so, there are plenty of things they’d LIKE to say to guests, but don’t.
From cleaning trash and quick service tables to other… unpleasant messes, these custodians are on the front lines of Walt Disney World guest relations, meaning they often have to hold their tongue and respond pleasantly to any given situation.
“Please Throw Your Trash Away in Trash Cans.”
Let’s start with the obvious: No Disney World Custodial Cast Members — or other guests for that matter — want to see trash thrown on the ground, especially since the resort has NO SHORTAGE of trash cans, all well within walking distance of each other. So please, take the extra step or two and drop your garbage in a can.
“Clean Up Your Quick Service Tables.”
On the same note, if you’re eating in a quick-service restaurant, make sure to drop your trash in the can on the way out. Not only will that make life easier for those on the custodial team, but it also frees up tables quicker and makes restaurant operations smoother.
“Please Let Us Know About Major Spills.”
Look, no one wants to talk about unpleasant things, but whether you’re talking about vomit, bathroom accidents, or even just massive food spills, these kinds of things are simply going to happen at a theme park. If it does, telling a Custodial Cast Member immediately is the right call. There’s no need for embarrassment — they’ve seen it all before — and delaying letting them know will just lead to more work.
“Ask Us Directions and Information.”
This final one has nothing to do with custodial duties and everything to do with how much Custodial Cast Members know about getting around the parks. They know every time-saving shortcut and under-the-radar spot to watch a parade or nighttime spectacular.
Next time you’re at Walt Disney World, be sure to keep Custodial Cast Members in mind while cleaning up after yourself. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World tips.

Thank goodness for the folks who spend their days cleaning up after all of the mess that park visitors leave behind. We would not be happy to spend our vacation time with the mess that some inconsiderate people leave on the streets of the parks. Thanks for your service , we appreciate you and your hard work .
